The role you’ll contribute:
The Accountant is a key role within the AdventHealth Corporate office shared services and is primarily responsible for supporting shared services and facility finance operations through processing and reconciling financial transactions and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Accountant provides transactional support and analysis to corporate office and the facilities for month end close and financial decision-making. The Accountant will create and submit cash requests, journal entries, and reconciliations to accomplish various deliverables and is available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs.

· Participate in an active team environment and contribute skills to key shared services support areas
· Reconciles general ledger and subsidiary ledger transactions using state of the art reconciliation tools for Accounts Payable, Cash, Inventory, Intercompany, Leases, and Revenue.
· Prepares and records journal entries covering 50+ health facilities company wide.
· Partners and collaborates with other shared services teams, facility finance and materials management, and corporate finance.
· Research and resolve issues within the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
· Performs month end close activities supporting the corporate office and multiple facilities.
· Assists management to ensure compliance with accounting standards, company accounting policies, and internal controls.
· Supports internal and external audit activities.
· Provides excellent customer service by working directly with internal and external customers.
· Participates in continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
· Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
· Occasionally available outside of normal business hours for support needs.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
Preferred qualifications :
· Familiarity with business concepts, practices, and procedures.
· Healthcare industry accounting or finance experience
· Shared services accounting or finance experience
