The role you’ll contribute:

The Epic Clinical Analyst is responsible for: Possessing an intermediate understanding of system build and implementation, the ability to analyze and understand business problems, and the knowledge to make solution recommendations that meet the organizational goals of maintaining clinical and business systems. In addition, implementing secure, effective, integrated data delivery systems that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patients’ experiences. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with clinicians and end users of the system to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain assigned applications and other associated systems.

  • Demonstrates moderate knowledge in the following application(s): Assigned modules within Epic Research and Epic Genomics

  • Serves as a contributing member of the system optimization team, dedicated to the development of electronic documentation solutions that support clinical workflow and practice and align with the current best practice standards.

  • Demonstrates moderate knowledge of workflows processes within the business department.

  • Ability to develop changes to applications for unique department scenarios by using application tools with minimal assistance from team members and/or the application manager.

  • Designs, builds, and tests application components and makes necessary changes using build tools with little direction and assistance from team members or the application manager.

  • Communicates necessary changes made in the application amongst team members and site contacts as appropriate

  • Contributes to system design documentation and outlines build steps using appropriate tools with some direction and assistance from team members or the application manager.

  • Participates in team meetings, project meetings, product validation, and other meetings when requested.

  • Coordinates special projects using project management skills, tools, and AIT methodologies with assistance from team members, the application manager and/or the project manager.

  • Collaborates with AIT leadership, population health leadership, physicians, clinicians, end users, vendors and associates to develop and deploy electronic applications or new functionality with assistance from team members, the application manager and/or the project manager per job role.

  • Develops workflow processes, identifies gaps, defines necessary process changes, and develops future workflows related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality.

  • Contributes to preparation of training materials and provides education on new applications or functionality. Conducts train-the-trainer, super-user, upgrade and/or other training with moderate direction from team members or the application manager.

  • Actively participates in facility support through solution implementation, activation, post-go live support, and knowledge sharing


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • B.A., B.S., or similar in a field of study such as business, IT, or a healthcare related area required or commensurate experience.

  • 2-4 years of experience with clinical/technical system application implementation with Cerner and or Epic

  • 1-2 years of experience leading groups in projects

  • Research and Genomics Epic Certification preferred
