The Manager of the Revenue Cycle and System Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) team supports the operations of the Process Improvement and Business Support team by managing the Revenue Cycle and System SME team (encompassing Front, Middle, and Back-end Revenue Cycle). The team will provide subject matter expertise on applications and systems used in the Front, Middle, and Back-end Revenue Cycle and advise on how to best utilize them to optimize operations. This role will be responsible for the overall success of their team through active collaboration with Revenue Cycle leadership, department directors/managers, and other Process Improvement and Business Support leaders, particularly their fellow Managers of Automation, Analytics, Project Management, and Vendor Management to ensure all teams are supporting the overall strategy and goals of the Process Improvement and Business Support team. They will be responsible for direct management over the Revenue Cycle and System SME team, while providing strategic guidance to staff in the identification, research, and implementation of all Revenue Cycle application improvements. The Manager of Revenue Cycle and System SMEs performs as a subject matter expert of Revenue Cycle systems through comprehensive understanding of Revenue Cycle operational workflows combined with an understanding of technical capabilities. The Manager of Revenue Cycle and System SMEs will adhere to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance standards, as well as rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

Manages the collaboration with teams across the end-to-end Revenue Cycle and provides strategic management and leadership to the Revenue Cycle and System SMEs team
Provides strategic insight to Revenue Cycle leadership in relation to complex technology initiatives and applications utilized by Revenue Cycle functional area departments
Manages and guides the Revenue Cycle and System SMEs team through the development of technical specifications that bridges Revenue Cycle operational needs with system capabilities
Manages the ongoing testing of Revenue Cycle applications and dashboards to ensure accuracy and continued operational usability; communicates nuances to Revenue Cycle leaders and impact to operations, if any
Manages and assists with strategic initiatives as they pertain to Revenue Cycle business systems and applications and their ongoing usage throughout the Revenue Cycle; provides initiative progress status to Process Improvement and Business Support leadership
Conducts periodic system issue reviews and works with department leadership and IT to implement changes needed to resolve issues
Works closely with leaders across the Project Management and Revenue Cycle teams by providing technical SME oversight during the design and execution of strategic Revenue Cycle initiatives
Collaborates with Analytics team leadership to ensure metrics and dashboards created by the Analytics team meets the technical specification requirements, and is implemented in an operationally effective and user-friendly format for Revenue Cycle teams
Collaborates with Automation and Revenue Cycle leadership to set strategic priorities related to identified automation opportunities for each Revenue Cycle functional area based on business cases established by the Revenue Cycle and System SMEs team
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications :
- Minimum of four (4) years of working experience in Revenue Cycle Operations
OR Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, healthcare, or related field with three (3) years working experience in Revenue Cycle Operations
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Advanced understanding of operational process and workflows across the front, middle, and back-end Revenue Cycle while leading teams through process improvement initiatives
Deep understanding of Epic applications, Revenue Cycle specific tools, technologies, and vendors leveraged by AdventHealth, their capabilities, data structure, and relation with other applications
Ability to lead a team of direct reports and establish priorities. Demonstrated ability to lead projects, providing project management, design and analysis in which specifications and delegation were part of the project
Exceptional problem-solving skills
Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing patient related information that is confidential in nature (as needed to perform duties)
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, healthcare, or related field
Minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience leading teams through small to medium project design and implementation
Healthcare technology background
Experience documenting workflow design and/or creating technical specifications
Experience managing projects and/or Six Sigma Lean certification
Experience coordinating Revenue Cycle system updates and/or system implementation
