General Summary :
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Chief Supply Chain Officer. Reporting to the system’s SVP Finance, the Chief Supply Chain Officer is responsible for leading, managing, transforming and developing the system-wide Supply Chain function, overseeing over $1.2B in total annual spend and servicing over 30 hospitals with more than 3,000,000 patient admissions annually. This includes providing strategic direction across procurement, sourcing, value analysis, logistics and inventory, and supply chain informatics and analytics. The role focuses on achieving key AHS objectives such as enhancing patient outcomes, patient safety, and the financial sustainability of the System. As such, the Chief of Supply Chain Officer will be tasked with creating a strategy that will transform the function towards new and sustainable efficiencies and success, including optimizing sourcing, driving cost and control initiatives, establishing a culture of efficiency and effectiveness, and aligning people, process and technology. This role requires a proven, transformative and adaptable leader with a strong track record of leading and transforming large Supply Chain functions across a health system, driving innovation and executing against strategic objectives.
Job Duties :
Lead, manage, develop, and set direction for the system-wide Supply Chain function
Create, communicate, and execute against a strategy for system-wide Supply Chain to achieve key AHS strategic objectives across procurement, sourcing, value analysis, logistics and inventory and informatics and analytics
Build a high performing Supply Chain function, foster team cohesiveness and establish a welcoming culture of efficiency and effectiveness
Attract, retain, and develop staff to ensure continuous capability enhancements across Supply Chain
Oversee a portfolio of improvement initiatives across Supply Chain pertaining to, but not limited to, cost reduction, strategic growth and alignment of people, process, and technology
Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors and with key stakeholders across the health system
Minimize organizational risk ensuring patient safety and the financial sustainability of the system
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to provide leadership, strategic direction, oversight and management for a large and complex Supply Chain function, working at system level
Demonstrated ability in building high performing teams and in coaching and developing staff
Ability to craft and execute a strategy to transform Supply Chain functions and realign process, people and technology
Strong influencing, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills up to and including executive level
Ability to drive change while delivering value within a team-based culture
Experience in adopting leading practices and the latest health care Supply Chain solutions in the market
Deep analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work with and in cross-functional teams
Exceptional relationship building, interpersonal, communication and listening skills
Demonstrated capability in effective oversight in financial management and achieving strategic goals within budget
Effective vendor management and contract management skills
Deep understanding of Supply Chain functions in large health systems, including, but not limited to, leading practices across procurement, sourcing, value analysis and materials management
In-depth knowledge of transforming Supply Chain functions and optimizing sourcing relationships to achieve improved patient outcomes and organizational cost effectiveness
Understanding of Supply Chain ERP applications and clinical products highly desired
Education and Experience :
A Master’s degree in business, Supply Chain or a health care-related field or equivalent experience
At least 20 years of experience in progressively more sophisticated Supply Chain leadership roles
Experience in Supply Chain in health systems preferred
