AdventHealth is seeking qualified candidates for Vice President of Home-based Services, located in Orlando, Florida

GENERAL SUMMARY :

Reporting to the SVP Population Health of Integrated Health Services (IHS), the VP Home Based Services collaborates closely with the corporate and divisional leadership teams to develop and execute strategic growth plans. The VP is a key influencer across the division, and within the community, creating partnerships and alignment for the national inventory of care continuum services within AdventHealth. The VP is accountable for the strategic development, deployment and integration of home-based whole person care models and supports the creation of the AdventHealth Hospital at Home Services for the Division. The VP has executive oversight of and accountability for the performance of the following Post-Acute business units currently in the CFD: all AdventHealth Home Care entities, AdventHealth Home Infusion, AdventHealth Respiratory and Medical Equipment Inc, and the integration of the AdventHealth Post-Acute Networks. The VP is responsible for the integration of AdventHealth Inpatient Rehabilation, AdventHealth Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Centers and Select Medical Long-Term Acute Care Hospital Joint Venture as part of the AdventHealth Post-Acute Care Network.

The VP of Home-Based Services collaborates with the Senior Administrative & Clinical Leaders of AdventHealth Acute Care Services, AdventHealth Corporate System, and AdventHealth Population Health Services Organization (PHSO). This is to secure alignment of strategic initiatives, full integration of home-based services and post-acute assets in a consumer delivery network within the CFD while ensuring patient care is exceptional and connected. The VP also provides leadership through aligning incentives and accountabilities to key organizational strategies, and assisting the SVP of Population Health, Integrated Health Services (IHS) in effectively communicating organizational strategies to achieve the business plan within the CFD. The VP oversees all activities involving the continuum of home-based services for patients. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Principle Duties and Job Responsibilities :

  • Sets service line strategic direction and align to business objectives. Develops, deploys and oversees the strategic growth plan of home-based (“Hospital at Home”) services in the CFD to increase overall market share.

  • Drives performance on balanced scorecard. Develops and oversees operating and capital budget ensuring that all departments operate within allocated budget.

  • Assesses, plans, directs, implements and evaluates care and business models and contributes to the overall organization decision-making process. Oversees the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Programs in each of the service lines of accountability, continuously evaluating critical aspects of care and patient safety.

  • Ensures that the customer perspective is a driving force behind leadership decisions and activities; identifying breakdowns in customer service and identifying solutions to create customer focused systems, processes and procedures.

  • Manages and develops the administrative & clinical leadership teams to meet all applicable regulatory licensure and accrediting regulations. Fosters effective collaboration between clinical departments, medical staff, and affiliating services to meet the organization’s strategic goals and objectives while ensuring the effective and appropriate use of resources for IHS’s clinical success.

  • Establishes and/or maintains working and collaborative relationships with the healthcare provider (pre-acute, acute, and post-acute) community, as well as strategic community healthcare relationships. Integrates with the CNO of Acute Care Services and AdventHealth System to facilitate connected care for patients and families.

  • Develops and collaborates with Population Health leaders in creating care pathways based on analytics and best practice standards and leveraging Home-Based Services to bring value to populations served.

  • Actively supports the CFD and Market CEOs to support services and business units as an IHS Unit advocate and leader for clinical integration (i.e., Finance, Clinical, People, Strategy, and Learning).

  • Maintains a high level of professionalism, exemplifying role model status. Participates in teaching opportunities as applicable. Plans and develops a complete succession plan for rollup up to and including own position

  • Maintains compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding home- based care and all CMS or other appropriate regulatory guidelines. Rounds with employees on a regular basis, engaging staff and leading on maintaining environment of safety.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Broad knowledge of home-based care models and operational models

  • Knowledge of clinical practices and processes, legal and regulatory requirements and mandates, and the ability to gather and evaluate data and outcome results to use in planning hospital operations, budgets, and process improvement.

  • Knowledge of healthcare as well as current and future healthcare trends

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively express ideas and views through public speaking, presentations, reports, and professional correspondence.

  • Exceptional people management, leadership skills, and the capacity to relate to people in a manner that wins confidence and establishes support.

  • Strategic vision and thinking. Ability to position the organization for the future, looking beyond the present situation to conceptualize key trends and identify changing market demands.

  • Strong business acumen, intelligence, and capacity; able to think strategically and implement tactically.

  • Approaches his/her work as an interconnected system. Ability to understand major objectives and break them down into meaningful action steps.

  • Strong organizational abilities and the flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the position.

  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite.

Education, Experience, and Licensure REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field

  • Ten (10 years of healthcare leadership experience

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive management responsibilities within healthcare leadership, preferably within an acute care, ambulatory or post-acute setting

  • Extensive experience facilitating and managing challenging situations, including conflict resolution and demonstration of outstanding interpersonal skills

  • Experience in facilitating high-level multidisciplinary group decisions

Education, Experience and Licensure Preferred :

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or clinical specialty.

  • Strategic planning and/or working with nursing administration preferred .

  • Previous experience as a hospital Chief Operating Officer is highly desired

  • Minimum of five (5) years leading at director level or above in one or more post-acute care modality: (IRF, LTACH, SNF, Home Health, Hospice)

  • Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives
