The role you’ll contribute:
The Director of Inventory Management is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for all activities involving the management of clinical (or med-surg) supplies inventory across AdventHealth. This position requires close connectivity with each division/market to ensure teams are optimizing inventory levels to meet clinical demand, control spend, and manage vendor performance. The goal is to generate a cohesiveness within AH and reduce the variation of inventory processes, products and strategies within supply chain. This role will be key in mitigating organizational exposure to product supply and distribution disruption. The Director of Inventory Management will also be responsible for a team of Demand Planners to drive exceptional inventory management practices to support medical/surgical products to the Florida Market originating from the Consolidated Service Center (CSC). This role will be responsible for overseeing the efficient management of inventory purchasing and stocking levels.

· Inventory Management
Create a “control-tower” that provides inventory visibility from supplier through point of use in the clinical setting.
Build and lead a team that delivers effective forecast models based clinical demand, network growth, product supply characteristics, industry trends, and distribution agreements.
Development and management of system wide inventory strategy and identification of standardized tool(s) and analytics to bring data to a more granular actionable level
Address unmet demand in a timely and effective manner.
Create and standardize processes and process controls network-wide optimizing inventory flow, accuracy, and reporting
Standardize and optimize the approach to Par processes, design, automation, and execution
Work closely with Sourcing and Value Analysis Teams (VAT) to guide and assist with all local and corporate initiatives involving inventory strategy
Manage the stocking criteria process and SKU standardization, where possible
· Risk Management
Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
Address unmet demand in a timely and effective manner.
Develops and manages a robust emergency response plan for supplies network-wide
Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, which will assist in assessing situations that may cause an interruption in supply and taking preventive measures to assure a continuity of supply (natural disasters; worker strikers, Manufacturer Plant closures; etc.)
· Financial/Vendor Liaison
Provide feedback and data to support Supplier partnership meetings; review supplier scorecard and identify quality and service issues. Assists in resolution to vendor supply chain issues.
Provide input and manage operational aspects of Distribution Agreements to improve compliance and lowest net cost
Standardize and optimize the approach to Par processes, design, automation, and execution
Assist in improving contractual compliance and improve supplier performance through vendor scorecarding
Properly monitor the ordering of new supplies to reduce excess and obsolete inventory
Works closely with Sourcing and Value Analysis Teams (VAT) to guide and assist with all local and corporate initiatives involving inventory strategy
Oversees the development and management of Supply disruption and product substitute list. Partners with various groups across AdventHealth to ensure alignment in process in managed and maintained
Communicates any identifiable or potential product supply or quality issue or supplier concerns that may impact the quality of customer operations and patient care or the integrity of supplier data.
Develop strategies to maximize savings opportunities leveraging bulk-buys while mitigating supply risk.
Responsible to control freight expense and explore opportunities to leverage the network for backhauls.
Establish business rules for customer demand in collaboration with manufacturer partners regarding product seasonality, product knowledge and utilization strategies.
Develop customer specific allocation strategies by vendor/product lines in coordination with the Warehouse Operations Director, 3PL planning and delivery schedules of manufacturers.
Provide feedback and data to support Supplier partnership meetings; review supplier scorecard and identify quality and service issues. Assists in resolution to vendor supply chain issues.
Continually reviews and implements opportunities for cost efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, supply chain or equivalent
Eight (8) years progressive experience in purchasing or inventory management
Four (4) years leadership experience
Management of multifunction operations for multiple locations
Management of financial budgets and operational analysis
Inventory strategy development based on market conditions and AdventHealth goals and objectives
Analytical capabilities and knowledge of forecasting and inventory management software
Ability to communicate with varying levels within AdventHealth as well as external suppliers
Ability to analyze and provide input to contracts
Collaboration skills across inter-disciplinary teams seeking to build consensus
Ability to use Microsoft and ERP-level tools
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Master’s degree in business, management, supply chain or equivalent
Ten (10) years progressive experience in purchasing or inventory management
Six (6) years leadership experience
Track record of building a new function within an existing organization
