Part Time & PRN
You Will Be Responsible For:
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.
Performs standards electroencephalographic procedures for patients as ordered by physician.
Prepares the patient, explains the procedure, and ensures patient's cooperation’s during the examination.
Calibrates and adjusts the EEG apparatus in accordance with standard procedures.
Selects predetermined electrode combinations as well as special combinations made necessary by the case under study.
Monitors other variables; dispenses sedative medications under physician's direction, as needed, to induce sleep.
Abstracts relevant information from the patient's clinical record and obtains additional information if necessary.
Prepares preliminary reports addressed to the patient's physician.
What You Will Need:
High School Graduate or equivalent required.
A minimum of two years’ experience as an EEG technician preferred.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
EEG Certification preferred.
Performs EEGs studies. Responsible for recording electrical activity of the patient's brain to study epilepsy, convulsive disorders and localizing lesions in the cerebrum. Performs clerical duties. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality (CQI) improvement activities.
