The role you'll contribute:
Follows at menu to prepare and cook food for patients, visitors and staff members. Responsible for following Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Safe Handling Guidelines regarding food safety and sanitation. Will provide excellent customer services when working with patients, visitors and other staff members. Provides oversight and training to staff.

Prepares food items according to patient specific restrictions and established schedules.
Ensures that all food prepared meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste and appearance.
Maintain adequate supply of hot and cold items required for cafeteria, patient, and unit stocking.
Demonstrates ability to operate commercial food preparation equipment.
Communicates special needs to appropriate staff to ensure patient needs are met.
Helps to maintain a positive, team orientated, professional, service conscious environment.
Ensures the use of FIFO rotation system and properly labels and dates all items per policy.
Ensures questions and complaints are responded to in a timely manner. Problems, complaints, or questions that a Cook cannot respond to are brought to the Supervisor’s attention.
Participates in department and hospital educational programs, in-service meeting, and safety trainings.
Qualifications

High School diploma or GED
Strong communication skills
Basic computer skills.
Culinary training
Experience in hospital food service setting.
CPFSFood Service Safe Certification
Great communication skills, willing to learn, adapt well to change.
