The role you'll contribute:

Performs Journeyman level work in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, appliances and devices in compliance with all regulatory agencies. Assures reliability and safety of electrical systems. Other responsibilities include those of general maintenance (i.e., drywall patching, minor plumbing, equipment maintenance and safety testing). Mentors and coach's facilities staff.

The value you'll bring to the team:

  • Performs or directs all electric circuiting work in the hospital including installation of new branch, lighting, life safety and other circuits as needed. Installs, repairs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.

  • Ensures that all ground fault circuits are working properly and that circuit breakers are properly marked as to the circuits and equipment they control.

  • Maintains fire alarm systems (i.e., fire detection system and sprinkler system). Reads and interprets blueprints to ensure proper installation of new equipment and repairs of existing equipment there by eliminating downtime and additional repair/replacement expense.

  • Accurately computes electrical service requirements and project needs (time and material) for new equipment and remodels so as to meet departmental and hospital budget projections.

  • Monitors and inspects work to ensure compliance with codes and regulations. Performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, overhaul, and construction duties.

  • Inspects and performs repairs on Life Safety components (i.e., fire/smoke wall, doors, exit corridors, exit stairs, & chute doors).

  • Comprehensive understanding of equipment operation, building systems, emergency procedures and the ability to successfully provide service as needed.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Required:

  • High School Diploma OR GED

  • 5 years of experience in general electrical maintenance.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to read, write and speak English Basic computer skills.

  • Credential: ELECT JRNY

  • Current state Electrical Journeyman license or state master’s license.

Preferred:

  • Experience with general electrical maintenance in hospital facilities or healthcare construction.
