The role you’ll contribute:

The Staffing Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of scheduling and assignment of nursing personnel. Maintains database for regulatory agency compliance, productivity and serves as a resource for scheduling and payroll system questions.

  • Accurately maintain database (computer and manual systems) regularly (daily and monthly) for staffing areas for quality assessment.

  • Participates in positive customer relations with both internal and external customers.

  • Equitable distribution and assignment of nursing resources in conjunction with nursing leadership

  • Equitable distribution of shift availability.

  • Informing Managers of staffing/employee issues through e-mails/reports.

  • Prompt notification of contract agencies for cancellation/confirmations, payroll issues, or employee issues.

  • Knowledgeable and responsible for staying current on staffing guidelines and policies as directed by Manager so as to stay within budget restraints.

  • Coordinates and assigns nursing float staff according to guidelines and resources. Places staff in accordance with priority and needs in a timely manner.

  • Accurate data entry for nursing hours for all assigned units and staff in computerized scheduling system.

  • Accurate activation/deactivation of contract labor in the system.

  • Identifies and participates in process improvement activities.

  • Maintain upkeep of personnel overstaffing records.

  • Creates and maintains records of work done on a shift by shift, daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Determines priorities for staffing needs in conjunction with the nursing unit charge nurses and nursing supervisors.

  • Functions well in emergency situations, i.e excessive unscheduled absences, natural/man-made disasters, mass casualties, or excessively high census.

  • Demonstrates ability to investigate and resolve complaints.

  • Demonstrates effective problem-solving and ability to prioritize workflow.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years clerical, staffing, or patient placement experience

  • Experience in a health care setting,
