Location: AdventHealth Porter

The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for maintenance and repair of facilities interior and exterior surface finishes. Prepare and apply various finishes to walls, ceilings, furniture, fixtures and equipment in order to provide a safe, functional and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, staff and visitors. Other responsibilities include those of general maintenance (i.e., hanging and finishing drywall, minor electrical and plumbing, equipment maintenance and safety testing). Mentors and coaches less experienced staff.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Applies various wall varnishes (i.e., paint, stains, vinyl wall coverings, etc.) to interior and/or exterior surfaces.

• Prepares surfaces for painting by removing old paint using paint removers, scrapers, wire brushes, or blowtorches and primes surfaces as necessary.

• Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers using a caulking gun or a putty knife.

• Performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, overhaul and construction duties.

• Performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs.

• Inspects and performs repairs on Life Safety components (i.e., fire/smoke wall, doors, exit corridors, exit stairs, & chute doors).

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Education:

• Degree: HS GED

Experience:

• Five years of experience in commercial or industrial painting/building maintenance

• Ability to read and understand construction documents

• Experience with mixing paint to match existing conditions

• Experience with different types of application methods (brushing, rolling, spraying, etc)

Valid Colorado driver's license
