The role you’ll contribute:
Contributes towards the delivery of quality health care with a concern for the well-being of those served. Provides high quality patient care by performing intake assessment, determining diagnosis, developing and maintaining a treatment plan, concurrent reviews and discharge planning for patients in the Behavioral Health Program. Therapy may include individual, family, couples or group counseling as appropriate, using clinically sound and evidence-based practices as current with Colorado State Mental Health laws, regulatory agencies, and AdventHealth policies and standards of care.

Demonstrates critical thinking in delivery of assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of quality care to meet patient needs.
Demonstrates critical thinking in the delivery of all EAP Interventions, such as Workshops, Training, Mediation, Team Effectiveness, Trauma, Drug and Alcohol, Management Services, etc.
Facilitates individual, group and family therapy as well as psycho-educational groups to promote patient emotional, spiritual and psychological health.
Communicates and collaborates with family members and other care givers regarding the plan of care for the patient.
Works with interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement care of patients using insight, limit setting, support, goal setting and other techniques as appropriate.
Participates in on-call rotation, conducting crisis assessments and developing safety plans with clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
Appropriately assess suicide risk.
Provides clients with appropriate resources and referrals when clinically indicated.
Responds to potentially dangerous situations and ensures safety of patients in least restrictive manner.
Demonstrates proper precautions when dealing with suicidal, homicidal and/or dangerous clients.
Applies knowledge of state statues criteria pertaining to involuntary holds, seclusions and restraints.
Applies required knowledge of psychiatric medications and ability to evaluate responses.
Meets department goals for weekly productivity according to department standards.
Ability to prioritize and balance the various and at times irreconcilable interests of the patient, the insurance companies, employers, medical staff, and the available programs and facilities.
Consistently complies with all requirements of Federal and State laws, accreditation standards and ethics guiding the behavioral health profession and AdventHealth policies and standards of care.
Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.
Clinical documentation, including treatment plans and updates, are completed according to respective managed care and EAP provider manual standards.
Documentation reflects therapy adjustments based upon client’s progress or lack of progress towards stated goals.
Provides timely, clear written and verbal communication to relevant providers, managed care, employers’ and clients family members as appropriate.
Accurate charge sheets clearly reflect the correct diagnosis description and code, as well as the CPT code for services rendered, and are submitted no later than the following business day for managed care clients.
Discharge summaries are completed after client has been discharged based on department protocol.
All clinical documentation includes date, time and duration of each appointment.
Assists manager in developing and maintaining team records and statistics.
Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops to remain current with industry changes.
Participates in community activities related to behavioral health.
Assists in training behavioral health staff and other hospital personnel.
Acts as a resource for new staff members and co-workers by sharing information and providing education.
Recognizes opportunities for performance improvements and initiates efforts for system improvements.
Adheres to professional code of ethics and to all accreditation and licensure requirements.
Demonstrates effective time management and is proactive in prioritizing workload and meeting productivity requirements.
Adapts to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census and staffing through priority setting and flexibility.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
Current State License in one of the following disciplines: Clinical Psychologist (PSY), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field
Two years of direct behavioral clinical experience providing individual, group or family therapy in an inpatient or outpatient setting
Competence with DSM diagnostic criteria and treatment planning.
Demonstrates clinical and ethical professionalism, conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience treating patients with substance use disorders
Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS)
EAP knowledge and experience
