The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for strategy, growth and development, operational oversight and all components of the Transfer Center throughout the AdventHealth continuum. This includes and is not limited to supporting evidence based clinical quality outcomes, legal and regulatory policies across all facilities, physician relations, endorsing Transfer Center value to statewide rural/community physicians, financial oversight, performance improvement and human resource management. In coordination with the Medical Director and other Senior Leaders, the Transfer Center Director will help further define and execute innovative strategies to align with overall organizational goals. Provides leadership and subject matter expertise system wide to further enhance all regulatory and service excellence across the system. Responsible for a strong understanding, working and alignment with AdventHealth IT and Unified Communications teams to ensure all technical equipment has immediate support, redundancy, and call storage for risk/legal management. Critical responsibilities include achieving data driven outcomes by increasing efficiencies, increasing patient referrals to AdventHealth, reducing costs, and improving the provider and patient experience.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert with physician and nursing leaders across all sites, acute care providers, physician offices, and medical staff. Provides feedback and direction to the transfer coordinators.

  • Provides leadership and mentorship for the Transfer Center team, while providing a climate which fosters associate engagement and professional development.

  • Accountable for developing, monitoring, managing budget and forecast for Transfer Center.

  • Promotes and supports major corporate initiatives within AdventHealth Strategic Framework.

  • Maintains and improves Advent Connect Transfer Center operations by monitoring system performance; identifying and resolving problems; preparing and completing action plans; completing system audits, uses monthly dashboard and statistical analysis to drive process improvement.

  • Accomplishes Advent Connect Transfer Center human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; administering scheduling systems; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures and strategically analyses staffing matrix.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in transfer center operations management; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications establishing personal networks; benchmarking state of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Assures all calls taken at the transfer center remain quality focused. Quality focus being the foundations for all calls coming into and being placed by using efficiency, effectiveness and professionalism.

  • Monitors, investigates and responds to all patient safety occurrences (Midas) in a thorough and timely fashion.

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction for process improvement, quality and compliance working closely with and following AdventHealth’s Legal and Risk Management recommendations.

  • Provides expertise in Epic Transfer Center platform for improved functionality and reporting.

  • Performs case review when requested with recordings and timelines and reports to Medical Director and key stakeholders’ results of the review.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications :

  • BSN

  • Registered Nurse

  • Certified Emergency Nursing Certification or Critical Care Registered Nurse Certification

Preferred qualifications:

  • MSN
