Shift: Every other weekend and 1 evening per week

Location: 100 HOSPITAL DR, Hendersonville, 28792

The role you’ll contribute: The Pharmacy Intern, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performs delegated duties, tasks and functions associated with the provision of pharmacy services within the hospital.

The value you’ll bring to the team

• Assists the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medication.

• Prepares sterile products such as IV solutions, piggyback containers, and cytotoxic drugs, irrigations, TPN’s, epidurals, prefilled syringes, reconstituting of medications under aseptic conditions.

• Able to retrieve and read medication orders in the pharmacy information system.

• Keeps work area and equipment clean and neat.

• Accurately refills Pyxis MedStation; accurately conducts inventory of Pyxis MedStation and accurately loads and unloads medications to/from Pyxis as directed by the Director or Supervisor.

• Triage incoming telephone calls.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High School diploma

• Current enrolment in a NC Board of Pharmacy approved school of pharmacy.

• Hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred
