The role you’ll contribute: The Medical Assistant - Uncertified, under close supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider upon successful completion of necessary competencies. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments.

  • Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately

  • Perform clinical intakes

  • May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty care

  • Follow safety processes and policies to ensure proper care is given

  • Must maintain education requirements for position and demonstrate competency, as required

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Minimum qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must satisfy one (1) of the following:

  • Graduate of an accredited or state-recognized medical assistant program within the past five (5) years;

  • or successful completion of a registered apprentice program pursuant to the guidelines of U.S. Department of Labor within the past five (5) years;

  • or successful completion of a formal medical services training program offered by any branch of the U.S. Military Training within the past five (5) years;

  • ​​​​​​​or have at least one (1) year of supervised work experience in the medical assisting field within the last three (3) years

  • Current, valid CPR certification is required

  • Able to communicate in English
