AdventHealth Maitland seeks to hire Program Director – Operational Performance who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Established in 1908, AdventHealth is one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in the country, caring for more than a million patients each year. The Maitland Office Plaza houses our highly skilled teams that support our hospital system including Marketing, Patient Financial Services, Revenue Management, the Credit Union and Human Resources. The Trickel Building, a two-story office structure, creates an atmosphere of health and healing, with a healthy-style café and quaint chapel. Job Summary:

The Program Director provides leadership of the Performance Platform within Integrated Health Services (I.H.S.) business units in the Central Florida Region and multi-state division. The Program Director is accountable for the organization, deployment, training, and sustainment of the Performance Platform and associated tools. Works closely in collaboration with IHS senior leadership in the planning, design, and execution of performance goals and cultural engagement strategies. Reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer of I.H.S. and is accountable for driving improved balanced scorecard performance; using the structured framework of the Performance Platform and performance improvement methods. Actively participates in outstanding consumer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Strong leadership skills including a high degree of emotional intelligence, effective coaching, and problem solving

  • Experience with performance improvement methodology

  • Ability to develop strong rapport with all levels of leadership

  • Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals

  • Strong knowledge of production audio and video technology

  • Expert level presentation, verbal and written communication skills

  • Expertise in consultation, training design, and delivery of service related initiatives

  • Proficient in data analysis, project planning, and change management

  • Exceptional organizational skills as demonstrated by the ability to define and monitor multiple processes to foster results

  • Translate strategic priorities into operations and best practices, creating a culture of accountability and ensuring performance standards are met

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Communications, Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Administration or related field

  • Five (5) years in healthcare environment

  • Three (3) years of leadership experience

  • Previous experience in training, design, and delivery

  • Trained in performance improvement methods

  • Knowledge of hospital and outpatient operations; safety, regulations, processes, finance (Preferred)

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Administration or related field (Preferred)

  • Performance Improvement experience in methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean thinking (Preferred)

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth cores services standards.

  • Provides oversight of the Performance Platform initiative, including program management of 400 work groups from all Integrated Health Services entities: Institutes, Medical Group, Post-Acute, and Ambulatory Services

  • Responsible for the monthly Performance Platform deliverables, which includes the development of the senior leadership message, organizational communication, educational materials, and timelines.

  • Works collaboratively with senior leadership of IHS, ACS, support teams, and physicians, maintaining and managing all stakeholder relationships.

  • Develops and executes sustainment trainings, coordinates activities, exchanges information, and/or resolves problems with regards to Performance Platform processes and operations.

  • Develops and promotes effective and efficient communication strategies to support the desired consumer-focused culture.

  • Serves as a conduit of information and communication from the front-line workgroups to various levels of leadership including the C-suite, and from the senior leadership teams to the front-line teams.

  • Accountable for the development and coordination of manager and director level trainings and educational material for effective meetings and performance analysis.

  • Manages all data related to the operational arm’s Performance Platform functions with high technical and analytical capability.

  • Adheres to Advent Health Corporate Compliance Plan and all rules and regulations of applicable local and state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

  • Assists in the annual review and updating of all policies and procedures pertinent to areas of responsibility.

  • Ensures timely completion of performance excellence evaluations and consistency in application of departmental policies, including those specifically dealing with progressive discipline.

  • Understands the requirements regarding the consumer survey process.

  • Supports I.H.S. Executives in achieving operational goals which includes Team, Quality Outcomes, Market Growth and Financial Performance, and completion of critical projects.

  • Identifies opportunities and actively participates with all I.H.S. departments in organizational assessments and strategic planning deployments

  • Has an instrumental role in employee engagement and partners with accountable leaders in engagement strategies and culture transformation.

  • Works closely with the CFD teams to warrant alignment and execution of system-wide strategies.

  • Collaborates with communication departments to ensure consistent messaging and cascading deployment.
