Program Manager – Finance Informatics - Maitland

Florida Hospital Maitland seeks to hire a Program Manager who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Facility Profile:

Established in 1908, Florida Hospital is one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in the country, caring for more than a million patients each year. The Maitland Office Plaza houses our highly skilled teams that support our hospital system including Marketing, Patient Financial Services, Revenue Management, the Credit Union and Human Resources. The Trickel Building, a two-story office structure, creates an atmosphere of health and healing, with a healthy-style café and quaint chapel. The main lobby is filled with lush greenery and a light trickle of water, creating a holistic environment.

Department Profile:

The Financial Informatics department is located in Maitland and is responsible for overseeing the effective use of all financial information produced by information systems throughout the organization. Financial information is used for making decisions. The Financial Informatics Department enforces a rigor that ensures the organization’s financial information is as accurate and effective as possible for making the best decisions. The Maitland building offers an onsite cafeteria and free parking.

Work Hours/Shifts:

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

Job Summary:

The Program Manager leads, develops and monitors the design, validation, certification and implementation of best practices in systems and processes, ensuring the integrity, effectiveness, and efficiency of software architecture in accomplishing these practices. Performs issues resolution on complex problems, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The Program Manager is able to query and interpret an extensive variety of data, and convey results in written, power point presentation or diagram form. Works on complex projects, diagnoses complicated issues, by utilizing trouble-shooting and problem solving capabilities. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works, interacts, and communicates independently with all levels of the organization, under the minimal supervision. Manages team members and serves as a mentor. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Ability to comprehend technical manuals and instructions.

  • Ability to write specifications and documentation associated with software design and development.

  • Broad knowledge of healthcare industry standards and “Best Practices”.

  • Ability to think creatively in designing solutions with latitude to think “out-of-box”.

  • Understanding of Healthcare Information Systems/Technology infrastructure and is able to extrapolate the impact that changes in software architecture will have on departmental practices.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field.

  • At least 2 years of supervisory or coordinator experience, preferably in a related role.

  • Six Sigma training (preferred)

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • PMP Certification (preferred)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs current/future state process analysis. Determines what systems and procedures can result in best practices and is able to determine and present the options. Prepares written proposals, briefings, specifications, designs diagrams and presentations that assist management in making effective decisions.

  • Acts as a focal point for identifying issues that require management intervention. Assists in the identification, analysis and resolution of system or process problems. Quickly collects data and establishes facts in order to determine the cause of these problems, tracks and follows-up on issues, contacts and works with appropriate operational or technology staff to resolve issues.

  • Responsible for audits and identifying analytics to quantify the financial performance of systems or processes that result in best practices. Conducts research, prepares findings and recommendations, builds business cases and justifications that facilitate management decisions, and can articulate why best practices achieve optimal results.

  • Responsible for preparing agendas and facilitates various types of meetings at different campuses as required. Manages logistics and coordinates events, some of which may require travel out of state.

  • Manages and evaluates the work of team members in the accomplishment of Program Management Office goals. Serves as a mentor and coach to the team during the course of a project.

  • Provides on-call and backup support as required during key implementation events. Assimilates past experiences and job knowledge to solve problems in a timely manner. Works closely with the director and leads team members in trouble-shooting and/or problem solving.

  • Participates in internal and/or external training programs, staying current on industry trends and compliant on skills applicable to assigned duties. Develops and publishes educational material. Trains and mentors on developed systems and software. Serves to enhance the knowledge of co-workers and customers.

  • Monitors project budget dollars, tracks all working hours on a daily basis as required for project capitalization. Completes documentation for all phases of the project in accordance to Program Management Office guidelines. Effectively prepares and presents technical and/or educational documentation of assigned projects and to enhance the knowledge of customers and team members.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the department.
