The role you’ll contribute:

The Revenue Cycle and System Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) Analyst supports the operations of the Process Improvement and Business Support team by acting as an intermediary between Revenue Cycle teams and support teams to help translate Revenue Cycle operational needs to technical requirements and evaluate feasibility of technology projects for all AdventHealth acute operations. The Revenue Cycle and System SMEs Analyst performs as a subject matter expert of Revenue Cycle Systems through comprehensive understanding of Revenue Cycle operational workflows combined with an understanding of technical capabilities. This role involves extensive collaboration with other Process Improvement and Business Support functional areas, including but not limited to Analytics, Automation, Vendor Management, and Project Management teams. The Revenue Cycle and System SMEs Analyst will adhere to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance standards, as well as rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

● Collaborates with teams across end to end Revenue Cycle functional areas to help translate Revenue Cycle operational and business requirements to system technical requirements

● Provides ongoing SME support to guide complex technology initiatives for software applications utilized by Revenue Cycle functional area departments and recommends the best usage of systems and technologies to accomplish operational goals and drive process efficiencies

● Assists with implementation and testing of Revenue Cycle applications by ensuring automations, dashboards, and other applications provide accurate and usable data through ongoing testing and communication with Revenue Cycle functional areas to increase effectiveness

● Identifies opportunities and provides actionable recommendations for process improvement in support of strategic initiatives as they pertain to Revenue Cycle business systems and applications and their ongoing usage throughout the Revenue Cycle; relays findings and recommended action plan with the Revenue Cycle and System SMEs leadership

● Conducts or leads periodic system issue reviews and works with department leadership and IT to implement changes needed to resolve issues

● Collaborates with the Project Management team to provide technical SME support during the design and execution of strategic Revenue Cycle initiatives by evaluating feasibility of projects and translating operational requirements into technical specifications as needed

● Supports the Automation team in the development of business cases to quantify automation opportunities by time saved and financial or strategic impact; keeps an ongoing roster of use cases and works with Revenue Cycle and executive leadership to prioritize Automation development. Supports automation team by developing the Process Design Documents (PDD) for prioritized initiatives

● Collaborates with the Vendor Management team to address current state pain points and priorities for each Revenue Cycle functional area as it relates to Revenue Cycle systems; serves as a SME to Revenue Cycle operations for all third-party applications assessment, integration, and workflow management

● Liaises with Revenue Cycle functional areas and the Analytics team, providing detailed technical specifications for actionable data, metrics, and dashboards; communicates nuances in specifications, highlighting operational impacts, to Revenue Cycle teams

● Participates in relevant ongoing Revenue Cycle and software trainings to keep up to date on functional area workflows and technology capabilities; ensures that current trends and leading practices are being incorporated across all AdventHealth Revenue Cycle systems and applications

● Collaborates with the Education and Quality Audit teams to assess trends and performs root cause analysis on key pain points. Recommends process and technology enhancements to drive process and financial performance

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

● Deep understanding of operational process and workflows across the front, middle, and/or back-end Revenue Cycle

● Deep understanding of Epic applications, Revenue Cycle specific tools, technologies, and vendors leveraged by AdventHealth, their capabilities, data structure, and relation with other applications

● Exceptional problem-solving

● Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing patient related information that is confidential in nature (as needed to perform duties)

● Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.)

● Ability to effectively learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient manner

● Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in written form

● Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures, with close attention to detail

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

● Three (3) years of working experience in Revenue Cycle Operations

OR

● Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field with one (1) year working experience in Revenue Cycle Operations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

● Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field

● Experience documenting workflow design and/or creating technical specifications

● Experience managing projects and/or Six Sigma Lean Training

● Experience coordinating Revenue Cycle system updates and/or system implementation

● Epic Certification in at least 1 major Epic Module
