The Financial Informatics Senior Manager is responsible for transforming Financial Integrity strategy into procedures that ensure financial information flowing through financial, revenue cycle and clinical systems is relevant, accurate and timely to the decisions being made by financial and operational executives, leaders and staff. The Senior Manager oversees value delivery of projects in support of strategic programs. Provides leadership and direction to project teams and is responsible for achieving project objectives, such as increased value, mitigated risks, improved patient outcomes, and better business decisions. Acts as an overall manager and facilitator for implementation of projects. Leads, develops and monitors the design, validation, certification and implementation of best practices in systems and processes, ensuring the integrity, effectiveness, and efficiency in accomplishing strategic objectives. Performs issues resolution on complex problems during the auditing process, has ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, recommend mitigations and draw valid conclusions. The Senior Manager leads teams in performing queries and interpretations of an extensive variety of data, and conveys results in written, verbal, diagram and presentation form. Works on complex projects, diagnosing complicated issues by utilizing trouble-shooting and problem-solving capabilities, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works, interacts, and communicates independently with all levels of the organization, including internal staff, corporate partners, and external vendors. Manages analysts and serves as a mentor encouraging their ongoing development. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:
Excellent knowledge of portfolio, program and project management tools and techniques.
Understands business process analysis techniques, including Current State/Future State Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Risk/Mitigation, Impact Analysis, Financial Quantification, Six Sigma.
Broad knowledge of healthcare industry processes, standards and “Best Practices” with understanding of Healthcare Information Systems/Technology infrastructure.
Understands information systems concepts and design and can combine systems with processes to design breakthrough automation improvements. Ability to extrapolate the impact that changes in software architecture will have on departmental practices.
Utilize tools and technologies to enable efficient management of resources. Ability to adapt to changing business/operation environment with strong leadership qualities and the capacity to provide objective feedback. Utilizes Change Management processes for smooth transitions.
Effective oral, written and presentation skills, with ability to disseminate technical and strategic issues to all levels of the organization as needed, prepare information based on findings for Leadership evaluation, and propose non-traditional solutions while building and maintaining trust. Possesses strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and persuade people from all levels of the organization in a project-oriented environment. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Participates in internal and/or external training programs, staying current on industry trends and compliant on skills applicable to assigned duties. Trains and mentors team on leadership tools and best practices. Serves to enhance the knowledge of co-workers and customers.
Proactive, self-motivated and organized with the ability to multi-task the oversight of multiple projects.

Knowledge of Healthcare/Nursing and Clinical Operations/ and Physician Office practices (Preferred)

Strong understanding of the organization’s products, customer and marketing positioning. (Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Nursing Informatics, or related field OR Four years of equivalent progressive practical experience in healthcare.
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, InformationTechnology, Finance, Health Services Administration, Communication or related field. (Preferred)
Three years of management and/or leadership experience.
Four years of experience as a Financial Analyst, Systems Analyst or equivalent role.
Formal education or experience in statistics. (Preferred)
Three years of experience in program/project management. (Preferred)
Five years of management and/or leadership experience (Preferred)
Fifteen or more years of experience in a healthcare organization. (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Preferred)
Lean/Six Sigma Certification (Preferred)
Prosci Change Management certification (Preferred)

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Works with Finance and Revenue Cycle Leadership on urgent, high-profile requests and has ability to pull data and find and present solutions effectively.
Implements rigorous accounting and audit procedures to make sure information is accurate and that systems achieve expected value.
Performs current/future state process analysis. Determines what systems and procedures can result in best practices and is able to determine and present options. Prepares written proposals, briefings, specifications, designs diagrams and presentations that assist Leadership in making effective decisions.
Acts as a focal point for identifying issues that require Leadership intervention. Assists in the identification, analysis and resolution of system or process problems. Quickly collects data and establishes facts to determine the cause of these problems, tracks and follows-up on issues, contacts and works with appropriate operational or technology staff to resolve issues working across teams for the most effective method for timely completion of a high-quality product.
Tracks documentation for all phases of the project to ensure timely delivery. Effectively prepares and presents technical and/or educational documentation of assigned projects to enhance the knowledge of customers and team members. Works with customers, vendors, and project management team to insure timely success of projects and initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Understands the following as they pertain to financial information: Federal and State statutes, HIPAA regulations, IRS regulations, SEC requirements, GAAP rules, CMS rules and regulations, DNV ISO/NIAHO standards and/or Baldrige National Quality standards.
OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Assists in the creation of budgets for responsible teams and projects.
STRATEGIC PLANNING RESPONSIBILITY:
Works closely with executive leaders to understand business processes and assists in the creation of a strategic plan for how technology can be used to achieve organizational initiatives.
Forms projects and operational procedures to accomplish the strategic plan.
Identifies critical tasks and works under mission critical deadlines while delivering projects on time, in scope, and within budget.
PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for audits and identifying analytics to quantify the financial performance of systems or processes that result in best practices. Conducts research, prepares findings and recommendations, builds business cases and justifications that facilitate Leadership decisions, and can articulate why best practices achieve optimal results.
Works closely with sponsors, directors and project team members in trouble-shooting and/or problem solving. Identifies and champions continuous improvement in the process.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITY:
Broad knowledge of healthcare industry processes, standards and “Best Practices”.
Responsible for establishing transparent and consumer-friendly pricing for all charges.
Provides functional and project management direction and leadership to the financial informatics management team. Advises the project team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, supervises, develops, evaluates, and terminates as necessary.
Strong business acumen and leadership skills including building and motivating effective teams, managing conflict, setting team priorities, clearly defining roles, responsibilities and objectives, promoting professional development, and holding teams accountable to the highest standards of customer service.
Schedules team members and provides on-call and backup support as required during key implementation events. Assimilates past experiences and job knowledge to solve problems in a timely manner. Works closely with Leadership team and leads team members in trouble-shooting and/or problem solving. Minimizes risk across projects accordingly.
