You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Responsible for the daily Supply Chain functions as related to the assigned area. This responsibility will include the processing of all purchase order requisitions, confirmation and communication, credits and returns, recall announcements and needed actions, and assures the proper coding of all supply requisitions according to budget allocations.

  • Assists in determining par-levels for both perpetual and non-perpetual inventory locations within the assigned areas supply rooms. Insures all stocking locations are monitored for expiration of product and integrity of sterility. Responsible for tracking loan/borrowed equipment and supplies. Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area, to include the receiving/staging storeroom areas.

  • Acts as the Materials Management Liaison with their assigned departments to coordinate and provided assistance in cost containment measures (i.e. Monitoring of products and purchases, Supply Chain initiative projects, etc.).

  • Monitors backordered items and notify the appropriate coordinator when a backorder or product delay situation will influence patient care; assists in locating acceptable substitute products

  • Ensures GPO, AHS and Local contracts are being followed for product purchases, pricing monitored and updated in the MMIS, compares prices to contract

  • Works with Service Line Database Coordinators to audit charge sheets and other related materials to ensure all items used in the procedure are billed with accordance with hospital procedures.

  • Acts as a resource for the processing of requests by surgeons, vendors, and staff relating to supply and equipment needs.


What You Will Need:


  • Demonstrated leadership skills and good communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to read, speak, write and understand English.


  • 3-5 years’ experience in Materials Management, preferably in OR or clinical setting, required to demonstrate competence in a variety of functions related to the evaluation, procurement, and supply chain distribution and logistical support in a clinical patient care setting.

  • Associates degree preferred in business administration with 5 to 7 years directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified or experience equivalent PREFERRED.


  • Member of AHRMM or another purchasing associations preferred.

Job Summary:

Responsible for performing supply chain related functions for all assigned departments within the Preoperative Service Lines. Supports the organizational and financial goals of the assigned departments to include ordering and maintaining sufficient routine and special order supplies. The Materials Coordinator is responsible for all ongoing projects related to supply chain activities for Preoperative Services.
