The role you’ll contribute:

Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing variety of

equipment and following prescribed procedures: Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates

doses, and administers doses, under direction of physician.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used and disposed, using computer and following physician's prescription. Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a camera to produce photographic or computer images.

  • Prepare stock radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients. Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment. Gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy.

  • Keeps supervisor informed and seeks assistance from appropriate individuals when confronted with complicated procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care. Communicates abnormal findings to the reading physicians and notifies the physicians of procedures to be interpreted. Communicates with patients and family members appropriate to age and understanding.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program

  • Must be certified as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
