Work Hours/Shift: Full Time
Responsible for the coordination and overall daily operations and functions of Employee Health. Performs pre-placement and periodic nursing assessments on employees utilizing the nursing process. Demonstrates clinical nursing judgment and understanding of the concepts of infection control and workplace safety. Promotes maintenance of beneficial health/wellness habits and prevention of illness among employees. Promotes safe work practice and working environments. Maintains complete and accurate documentation and statistics. Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to ancillary staff and volunteers. Participates in efforts to improve quality of care through education and involvement. Oversees Workers' Compensation and Transitional Light Duty Programs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assists AVP HR with the day-to-day HR operations and is department designee, when assigned
1.1 Demonstrates knowledge of the AdventHealth Ocala structure, systems and processes and those of assigned area.
1.2 Position self as a support manager and take role as an informed "In-Charge" person. 1.3 Demonstrates the ability to make decisions with confidence and in support for the Organization's mission and goals. 1.4 Assist the AVP HR in maintaining the compliance work plan and performs quarterly audits. 1.5 Assists AVP HR with budget preparation and projects/reports.
- Serves as liaison between HR and key stakeholders.
2.1 Serves on hospital and community committees as requested. 2.2 Performs other clerical and administrative duties as required.
2.3 Responds to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner, remaining focused, and maintaining a caring and professional attitude at all times. 2.4 Determines priority in workload and ensures that at all times all items are completed accurately by the deadline.
2.5 Effectively serves as a consultative resource to employees.
2.6 Offers and accepts feedback in an honest, open and supportive manner.
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide new employees and current employees with safe, compassionate care.
3.1 Obtains histories and performs pertinent screenings with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return employees.
3.2 Performs medical surveillance in accordance with OSHA requirements for associates working with toxic or hazardous exposures/conditions.
3.3 Develops and implements occupational health policies and procedures in accordance with program needs and legal requirements (e.g., OSHA, CDC, The Joint Commission).
3.4 Works in conjunction with the Administrative Assistant and WC Insurance Carrier to coordinate AdventHealth Ocala’s self-insurance requirements through collaboration with AdventHealth’s Workers Compensation Department, in accordance with Florida Workers' Compensation Law.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

- At least 5 years in Employee Health, Occupational Health, and/or Case Management preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- RN state of Florida
