Work Hours/Shift:

PRN (Per Request Needed) Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Assists or prepares the cafeteria for opening for meal service; set up required food items.

  • Ensures that all containers are stocked with dishes, trays, silverware, cups, etc. and are readily available for customers. Restocks cafeteria as needed.

  • Serves employees and guests in the cafeteria line; greets patrons cheerfully and respectfully.

  • Operates cash register for any of the meals.

  • Works on patient tray line-delivers patient food cart to units.

  • Retrieves patient food carts from units and break down trays for processing through the dish machine operation.

  • Prepares all salads and cold food items for special functions, cafeteria, and patients following specified recipes. Prepares special diet food items as needed.

  • Covers, labels, dates all items returned to refrigeration.

  • Washes and cleans fruits and vegetables; peels, dices, shreds or slices them using kitchen equipment and hand utensils.

  • Completes daily and weekly cleaning assignments, keeping kitchen area and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition.


What You Will Need:

High School Diploma or GED.

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of tasks that meet the requirements of sanitary effectiveness to include dishwashing, trash and garbage removal, equipment cleaning and cleanliness of the kitchen. Maintains neat and orderly arrangement of storerooms and cleaning/stocking of the cafeteria dining area. Manages cafeteria operation or is responsible for cold food preparation for the cafeteria, catering, and patients. Has a responsibility to adhere to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan, to the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.
