Full Time, Day
You Will Be Responsible For:
Develop the analytic and measurement strategy for all projects undertaken including development of key metrics, identification of data sources and collection of baseline data.
Identify and document current processes, research best practices, conduct volume and utilization analysis, develop key performance indicators and future state recommendations, and create standard work documents to facilitate sustainability.
Utilize Value Stream Mapping, 5S/7S, Visual Workplace, and other tools to identify gaps in quality delivery, labor efficiency, and throughput.
Perform problem solving activities and root cause analysis using statistical tools such as DOE, 3x5 Why.
Conduct time studies/capacity analysis.
Work with cross functional teams as required to validate as-is processes; identify and eliminate inefficiencies; and reduce costs through process analysis.
Support projects to improve costs and drive value-based care.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders about progress toward goal achievement, critical factors and obstacles.
Work with management, consultants and other process engineers in Strategy Execution and Innovation to determine resource/staffing needs for particular project and maintain accountability for managing the resources and deliverables for specific projects.
Employ a variety of rigorous improvement methods and tools, such as Lean, Rapid Cycle Testing, RCA, FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.
What You Will Need:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Skill to succeed in a dynamic environment and produce deliverables in tight timeframes under constant pressure
Strong analytical, statistical and creative problem-solving skills
Knowledge of industrial engineering principles such as LEAN, workflow analysis, statistical analysis, work simplification, time standard, staffing analysis, and process improvement techniques as they apply to healthcare management system processes and operations
Facilitation of various PI methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, PDSA, etc.) Preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five years’ experience utilizing benchmarks and statistics to identify opportunities
Well-informed, practical experience using software, database, and computer applications skills, including knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, simulation software, and report writing
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical or chemical engineering preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.
LEAN certification preferred.
Six Sigma Master or Black Belt preferred.
Under the general direction of the region executive director, the process engineer will provide project management and analytic support to high priority cost and effectiveness initiatives throughout the system. The Process Engineer is tasked with identifying inefficiencies in healthcare delivery services and solutions to re-engineer inefficiencies to improve the access, quality, and cost of care for beneficiaries and the organization. This role will primarily focus on process analysis, time and cost studies, process simulation, process and productivity improvement. The Process Engineer may work independently and within multidisciplinary teams toward the execution and implementation of projects directed at improving operational efficiencies.
