Work Hours/Shift: FT Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

- Responsible for the portfolio of biostatistics work and assigning of specific projects to appropriate statisticians

- Responsible for the academic journal clubs and scientific review committee statistical reviews or assignment of those duties

- Works with scientific director and system leadership to develop service line system strategic research agendas

- Works with other scientists and clinical leaders to develop, refine, and implement research projects in alignment with strategic research agendas

- Mentors junior scientists and consults on protocol and procedure refinements, grant applications, and publications

- Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data science projects.

-Acts as an expert in psychometrics to strengthen AHRI’s ability to develop novel instrumentation. Works with system level leaders to understand system priorities, scope problems, and works with team to design and conduct research to address those issues

- Actively participates in scientific review and critique of research protocols

- Serves on the AHRI Institutional Review Board as invited

- Increases visibility of AHRI through service on national level advisory boards and professional organizations

- Works with study team to oversee study protocol compliance and execution as Principal Investigator

- Analyzes and interprets data using quantitative and/or qualitative software

- Advises operations teams on study logistics and recruitment issues

-Authors/co-authors articles for publication in peer-reviewed publications and presentation at scientific symposia and conferences.

-Collaborates with other SMEs to create and modify content of psychosocial interventions

- Partners with Marketing leadership on the content and design of study-related collateral

- Develops strategic national relationships and maintains communication with internal and external stakeholders

- Ensures research projects are aligned with the AHRI Institutional Review Board, the Office of Research Administration, and any institutional, state, and federal regulations

- Seeks external funding through federal grants and other awards programs


What You Will Need:



· Expert knowledge of principles, practices and concepts of qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research

· Advanced statistical background with ability to collaborate with specialized biostatisticians to optimize study design

· Demonstrated ability to identify and develop synergistic relationships with internal and external collaborators

· Expert level professional communication and writing skills

· Demonstrated ability to secure federal funding for the conduct of research through grants and other award programs

· Demonstrated ability to evaluate and summarize data, identify trends, and make recommendations


· Ph.D. in health sciences, data science, psychology, or related disciplines or PsyD

· Minimum 5-7 years of health-related research experience

· Minimum of 10 peer-reviewed publications, including minimum of five data-driven publications


· US Licensure as an MD, APRN, DO, Clinical Psychologist, or RN



· Knowledge of epidemiology, population health data analytics, social determinants of health, and health services management research

· History of R-01 grant receipt


· Experience as Principal Investigator in research related to the behavioral, social and psychological factors that influence health practice of individuals and communities


This licensed (MD, APRN, DO, clinical psychologist, RN) Biobehavioral Research Scientist IV is responsible for independent initiation, development, implementation, and evaluation of research studies that include dimensions of bio-psychospiritual, behavioral health, and clinical workforce. As Principal Investigator, Biobehavioral Research Scientist IV is responsible for study design and protocol implementation, regulatory compliance, recruitment of study participants, data analysis, and peer-reviewed dissemination. In collaboration with scientific director and Sr. Manager, s/he will be responsible for the portfolio of work and the assignment of projects to the appropriate biostatisticians. S/he will be responsible for the academic journal clubs and scientific review committee statistical review or assigning of these responsibilities. Biobehavioral Research Scientist IV listens to operations team and provides solutions to address study logistics such as recruitment obstacles. Biobehavioral Research Scientist IV provides mentoring to junior scientists. S/he collaborates with other senior scientists (internal and external) on study design and analysis. Research Scientist IV demonstrates successful grantsmanship from federal funding sources in support of aspects of bio-psychospiritual, behavioral health, and clinical workforce.
