You Will Be Responsible For:

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Director of Nursing Operations is a registered professional nurse with comprehensive responsibility for the strategic planning and coordination of all logistical components of nursing operations at the campus level. The Director is responsible for facilitation of process and product implementations that impacts care delivery of patients in the acute care setting and direct oversight of float pool. The Director is responsible for analyzing and facilitating standardization of nursing labor standards. This leader is a collaborator with strong emotional intelligence to create interdisciplinary teams and support their campus’ strategic business units. This leader contributes to the overall value analysis of product and practice implementation. The Director of Nursing Operations is an active participant in large scale deployment activities. This leader collaborates with campus Chief Nursing Officer to provide support and resources for daily operations. The Director evaluates current programs and suggests improvements and develops business plans that optimize short and long-term growth. Informs and advises the region/corporate and campus leaders by participating in applicable committees/taskforces as needed. Works with strategic business unit leaders and medical staff to ensure programs are aligned to the strategic innovation agenda of AdventHealth. Provides consultation to influence identified plans, enhance the abilities of others, and affect change in the organization. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peer and colleagues and collaborates with all levels of nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, physicians, educators and other stakeholders. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
· Direct oversight of direct campus operations related to staffing/labor standards and daily operations
· Direct operational oversight of the Nurse Education, Wound Care, Central Staffing Resources, and Vascular Access teams at the Orlando campus.
· Direct operational oversight to Operations Center, including House Supervisors, hospital capacity, staffing office and incident command.
· Responsible for the successful implementation and sustainment of processes in patient care areas that support clinical teams to be able to deliver high quality, compassionate care for their assigned campus.
· Collaborates with the Executive Director of Acute Care Inpatient Nursing Support on a regular basis to ensure strategies are aligned. Provides support to the clinical team for implementation and deployment of projects.
COMPLIANCE/REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITY:
· Accountable for assuring compliance and provides evidence of performance with DNV and other regulatory requirements. Operationalizes and assures compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Center for Disease and Prevention (CDC) and Patient Safety regulations at the campus level. Adheres to applicable practice standards that relate to their area of specialty.
OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
· Direct responsibility for Nursing Finance as it relates to labor standard analysis, premium labor, tuition assistance, strategic finance initiatives, capital oversight.
· Analyzes financial statements, manages financial resources, and educates team members on financial implications of patient care decisions. Reads and interprets benchmarking, financial, and occupancy data.
STRATEGIC PLANNING RESPONSIBILITY:
· Responsible for Nursing/Education proformas and master planning. Provides expertise support to other service line strategic planning.
· Provides collaborative leadership to ensure consistent safety and service standards for the Patient Experience Model.
· Effectively communicates with patients, families, employees, physicians and other department leaders.
· Accomplishes objectives, celebrates successes, and communicates a shared vision for the organization.
PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:
· Collaborates with campus leaders and stakeholders to assist departments in assuring teams have the infrastructure needed to deliver care.
· Administrative analysis of care delivery to ensure efficiency and affordability.
· Acts as a change agent, utilizing change theory to plan for the implementation of organizational change, supports staff during the change, and adapts leadership style to the situations of the change.
STAFFING/LABOR/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
· Responsible for staffing and labor oversight for Nurse Education, Central Staffing Resources, Operations Center, Wound Care and Vascular Access Team.
· Provides feedback, instructions, and developmental guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities.
· Allocates decision making authority and or task responsibility to appropriate levels of leadership to maximize the organization’s and individual’s effectiveness.
· Creates an environment in which others are setting expectations and holding each other accountable; professional and personal growth is an expectation.
· Identifies and eliminates sexual harassment, workplace violence, and verbal/physical abuse. · Implements programs to enhance work-life balance.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel

· Knowledge of regulatory standards (CMS, OSHA, Specialty Standards)
· Change Management training
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or relevant field
Master’s Degree in Nursing or relevant field
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Five (5) years’ experience in healthcare
· Three (3) years’ experience in leadership roles in a comparable health care setting
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Two (2) years’ experience as clinical educator or unit manager
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Current valid state of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
