The role you’ll contribute:

he Director, Physician Relations and Sales will be responsible for directly leading a team of service line-focused physician liaisons for the AdventHealth Central Florida Division. This leader will direct the outreach activities of the liaison team across Central Florida and the State to grow high-acuity clinical programs aligned with the strategic plan for the Central Florida Division. This role will guide the team in establishing, growing, and maintaining strategic relationships between physicians, their office staff, and AdventHealth to position the system and our specialists as their preferred choice for high-acuity care for their patients. The Director will own high-level physician relationships and maintain a strong presence in the Region and State. In addition, this Director will support the campus-aligned physician liaisons across the Central, Northwest, and South Markets in the Central Florida Division through the direct oversight of a Senior Manager responsible for developing and maintaining their sales competencies. This role will be an active member of the Central Florida Division strategy team and will collaborate directly with Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Operations. This leader is expected to create an environment for growth and an atmosphere of open communication, while actively participating in outstanding customer service and accepting responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Work with the Central Florida Division and Institute leadership to inform the development of Market and Institute strategic plans, as well as identify opportunities for operational improvements based on synthesis of market intelligence gained through outreach activities.

  • Collaborates with Strategy and Business Development to implement tactics to advance strategic initiatives.

  • Leads service line-focused physician liaison team to intentionally plan and implement physician outreach strategy aligned with Region and Campus priorities to position AdventHealth as the preferred provider for high acuity services.

  • Coordinates with Campus Business Development, inclusive of East and West Florida Divisions, and physician liaisons to plan for high acuity outreach in overlapping geographics to ensure consistent messaging and clarity to providers.

  • Develops and maintains meaningful relationships with key physicians in the market.

  • Communicate strategic priorities to the physician liaison team and ensure alignment and understanding.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining sales competencies of service line-focused physician liaison team, promoting engagement, and ensuring effective use of their time.

  • Oversees Senior Manager responsible to develop and maintain sales competencies for campus-focused physician liaison team.

  • Synthesizes and elevates market intelligence from the liaison team to inform the development of strategic initiatives, help garner physician support, and identify champions.

  • Provide input to marketing campaigns and strategies as they relate to physician marketing efforts.

  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the market and competitive landscape.

  • Maintains a strong understanding of hospital operations.

  • Assists in physician recruitment, as requested

Qualifications - External

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, health care administration, or related field


  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or Marketing


  • Five years of experience in health care, physician relations, life science sales, or similar role

  • Three years of management experience


  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills

  • Strong knowledge of sales/marketing, physician relationships, planning and development, research analysis, and event planning

  • Strong knowledge of marketing and sales

  • Ability to work well with others using tact and diplomacy

  • Ability to take direction in a matrixed work environment and work independently with light supervision

  • Effective interpersonal and influence skills


  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Optum, Trilliant, and other market analytics tools
