You Will Be Responsible For:
- Serves as the content expert for assigned Institute on specialty based local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies, as well as applicable Institute accreditation requirements.
- Responsible for performing routine readiness rounding in clinical areas to identify areas of opportunity and prepare for regulatory or accreditation site visits.
- Leads the development of interdisciplinary committees and task forces to drive patient safety, regulatory and quality improvements across the Institute.
- Leads the clinical team to develop strategies to create clinical standardization across facilities to improve patient outcomes based on national best-practices and guidelines.
- Analyze, interpret and make recommendations to meet federal, state and local requirements.
- Partners with Institute, physician, and clinical leadership during the development of new clinical programs to provide content expertise on regulatory requirements and ensure implementation of standardized clinical processes that are aligned across AdventHealth Orlando.
- Partner with Institute Medical Directors, Department Chairmen, and operations managers to develop department-specific quality interventions to improve quality and patient safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or other allied health related field
- Five years of clinical healthcare experience in an acute care or similar setting
- Experience with clinical process improvement or project management
- Two years of progressive leadership experience
- Clinical knowledge of specialty service lines (Cardiovascular, Neuroscience, Cancer, Digestive Health/Surgery and/or Orthopedics)
- Graduate of school of nursing (RN)
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or other allied health related field
- Experience working in large healthcare systems in specialty service lines (Cardiovascular, Cancer, Neuroscience, Orthopedics or Digestive Health/Surgery)
- Experience leading patient safety or regulatory related initiatives and projects
- Human Factors training or root cause analysis methodology
- Experience leading or participating (liaison) in regulatory or accreditation surveys
- State of Florida License Registered Nurse
- Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional (HACP)
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS)
- Certification in a Performance Improvement methodology such as: Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management (i.e. Prosci®)
- Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Patient Safety Certification
The Institute Safety and Regulatory Manager leads the Institute in improving patient safety and ensuring standardization of clinical processes across AdventHealth, including IHS & ACS. Serves as the content expert for assigned Institute on specialty based on local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies, as well as applicable Institute accreditation requirements. Responsible for performing routine readiness rounding in clinical areas to identify areas of opportunity and prepare for regulatory or accreditation site visits. Partners with Institute, physician and clinical leadership during the development of new clinical programs to provide content expertise on regulatory requirements and ensure implementation of standardized clinical processes that are aligned across AdventHealth. Serves as the liaison for the development and ongoing management of standardized policies, standard operating procedures, and powerplans for the Institute. Provides clinical teams and leadership with ongoing education and feedback on process changes, safety-related initiatives, and regulations. Serves as liaison with corporate regulatory affairs department to provide feedback on proposed legislation and assists in the response process on behalf of AdventHealth.
