You Will Be Responsible For:
Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork
Prepares routine Journal Entries for all assigned financial classes, cost centers and entities. Processes financial transactions, including, AHS transfers, miscellaneous accounts receivable, accounts payable for entities, cash posting, IDT’s, and others.
Gathers and analyzes financial statement information for all assigned financial classes, cost center, and entities. Ensures that all entries to the financial statements and subsidiary ledgers, from any source system, are approved and posted to the correct location.
Supports the monthly close process by meeting journal entry deadlines and getting answers for questionable amounts.
Routinely reconciles assigned balance sheet classes to a lead schedule. Research any variances between the General Ledger and Subsidiaries and provide explanations for any unusual trends and report any issues to department leaders.
Communicates financial results for assigned areas, with accuracy, timeliness, and clarity to finance and operational departments.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Required:
Associates degree in Accounting and one to two years of accounting experience, OR
Five years of accounting experience.
Familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a complete understanding of double entry accounting and an operational understanding of routine accounting functions.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook and Word or other personal computer applications and spreadsheet analysis.

Job Summary:
The Senior Bookkeeper performs and monitors daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries to the financial statements of the hospital and/or entities and ensures that all financial transactions are accurate and properly stated. The position is responsible for communicating results of their entries, providing explanations and support for booked amounts. The Senior Bookkeeper works on various projects, which may include reconciling all assigned balance sheet classes, working with internal and external auditors, and preparing and submitting tax forms. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
