Schedule: FT Days - 40 hours

Shift: Clinic is open Monday - Friday 7am-7pm. Shift will vary based on business needs

The community you’ll be caring for: Physical Therapy Patients

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Engages in promoting evidence-based standards of care and lifelong learning through autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal club/reviews, teaching/mentoring/CI, and/or clinical practice education within a peer group

  • Regularly participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships with a minimum of 2 contacts per month. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community as approved by manager or director

  • Actively supports scheduling so that each patient meets the plan of care as agreed upon by the patient and referring physician by adjusting and adapting their own schedule and/or working within the team in order to meet the patients' needs. Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs as approved and observed by manager or director

  • Determines Physical Therapy Diagnosis and establishes plan of care, make recommendations for referral if treatment needed outside of scope of Physical Therapist practice.

  • Eligible to perform Direct Access Physical Therapy in OP setting, as indicated per state Physical Therapy practice act.

  • Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluate muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.

  • Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient's needs. Monitors patient's response and progress to treatment and modifies treatment plan as appropriate.

  • Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policies and procedures.

  • Does discharge planning and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of equipment and follow up services.

  • As appropriate communicates appropriately and effectively with patients, family and healthcare professionals within and across care settings and communities.

  • Oversees the care provided by certified physical therapy assistants and therapy technicians, according to established regulations and practice standards.

  • Meets productivity standard as defined by department.

  • Attends department meetings and education as required.

  • Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Sports Med and Rehab Department.

  • Educates patients, family members, and caregivers.

  • Practices principles of employee and patient safety when performing daily job activities via observation.

  • Facilitates further development of staff clinical competency on an as-needed basis. If needed, collaborates with manager in staff skills' assessment and development of educational plans.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Licensed in applicable state as a Physical Therapist or Temporary State permit as Physical Therapist

  • Board Certification from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Physical Therapist Assistants, Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapy Aides, and students as needed.
