The role you’ll contribute:
The Senior Simulation Learning Strategist plans, develops and implements Medical Simulation education and training for the AdventHealth system which incorporates all campuses, service lines and departments (both clinical and non-clinical) and associated programs/partners, including Graduate Medical Education and AdventHealth University. Provides Program Management Services and learner-centered solutions for education, training and simulation activities at AdventHealth. Develops hypotheses and assessments for simulation-based curriculum throughout AdventHealth, including the analysis of quantitative, qualitative and scientific data. Identifies and promotes education and training best practices that enhance clinical outcomes, team performance, patient safety and quality improvement efforts. Implements strategic planning, simulation team supervision, and exercise design/development for system-wide customers

Simulation Curriculum Development: Utilizes educational theory that supports simulation as a learning strategy in the development of simulation. Develops, designs, implements and facilitates simulated experiences to meet specific curricular objectives and educational criteria related to multidisciplinary healthcare providers. Integrates current research/literature, industry best practice and evidenced-based care in all simulated learning activities. Determines the appropriate simulation modality using best practices for educational outcomes. Conducts in-depth job-task analysis and/or needs assessment to identify learning objectives to determine training solutions and performance enhancement solutions.
Simulation Training Team Development : Conducts training programs for healthcare providers which include principles of simulation in healthcare, development of simulation scenarios, safe learning environment, facilitation and debriefing skills. Provides evaluation and feedback for facilitators of simulation activities including scenario design, facilitation and debriefing skills. Conducts onboarding, continuing professional development and mentoring for new simulation facilitators, educators and operations specialists.
Research : Participates in research using simulation with evaluation measures aligned with organizational, campus and/or specialty goals, outcomes and strategies. Conducts research studies that evaluate educational and training technologies and their impact on student learning outcomes. Ensures ethical treatment of subjects and the use of validated evaluation instruments. Promotes collaborative research partnerships with the goal of knowledge and understanding to improve training, evaluation and design of systems
Program Management : Supports the planning, development and execution of the organizational strategy to include planning, monitoring and adjusting learning and development projects or activities. Oversees cost, schedule and performance of assigned projects
Data Collection, Measurement and Analysis : Serves as the organization-wide content expert on measurement/analysis methods and imparts relevant details to senior leaders and education/training staff. Leads research and evaluation of emerging trends to determine their worth (ROI/ROE) to the organization. Creates, develops and maintains a training data collection repository for organization-wide measures of training quality and effectiveness
Campus/Program Expert Liaison : Serves as an expert education liaison to campuses/programs for all aspects of simulation learning and training. Provides education to system-wide customers on methods and techniques to integrate simulation into their training and education programs. Provides assistance and guidance for needs assessment and learning methodology selection, simulated learning curriculum development, exercise/scenario development, and post-exercise evaluation.
Operations Management: Actively participates, communicates and serves as a positive change agent for all unit, department, campus, and system initiatives/goals and leadership activities. Leads in the development of new simulation initiatives. Provides guidance, recommendations, and integration of emerging technologies that support current and future training requirements
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) and Master’s degree in Simulation, Education, Nursing, Technology or related discipline
· Ten years of experience in healthcare
· Five years of experience in simulation
· Five years in healthcare education/teaching experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer.
· Doctoral degree in Simulation, Education, Nursing, Technology or related discipline.
· Certificate in Curriculum Development.
· Certificate in Program Management.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
· Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification
· Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
· Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) certification.
· Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator - Advanced (CHSE-A) certification.
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS) certification.
· Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider (PALS) certification.
· Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider (NRP) certification
