The role you’ll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Manages the Grants Department’s activities and strategic planning to attain significant increases in grant revenues. Establishes and maintains external relationships with leaders and program directors of foundations, corporations, and trusts through ongoing engagement, cultivation, and stewardship. Leads the development of grant projects, providing guidance to and collaborating with multi-disciplinary, multi-level teams, including AdventHealth VPs, administrators, medical directors, clinicians, scientists, government agencies, and other external partners. Researches, evaluates, and articulates complex data from literature and various sources, and designs and writes competitive and compelling proposals. Analyzes multifaceted situations related to the design, delivery, and contractual obligations of grant programs, and finds workable solutions to challenges resulting in minimal risk to AdventHealth, including modifications and negotiation of grant contract revisions. Develops and manages detailed, multi-year grant budgets, working with AH administrators and finance officers. Oversees prospect identification, evaluates findings, and assigns projects for grant proposal submission. Manages Grants department daily operations and staff including a Grants Officer, interns and contracted grant writers.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Oversees grant contract administration and compliance involving monitoring project outcomes toward meeting contract goals, finding workable solutions to attain goals when challenges arise. Manages and oversees the fiscal management of grant budgets; ensuring grant dollars are allocated per terms of grant contracts, responsible for all grant disbursements, writing progress reports, and independently negotiating revisions with grantors and grantees when necessary while assuring minimal risk to AdventHealth.
Manages prospect identification efforts, analyzes opportunities for compatibility, engages potential funders in discussions about projects, and assigns AH projects for grant proposal submission.
Advises and guides AH department leaders, including VPs, administrators, medical directors, residency faculty, clinicians and scientists in pursuing viable funding opportunities and in the development of new and existing grant programs in their areas. Assists in crafting programs to fit available grant opportunities
Develops strategic plans and leads the department’s efforts to significantly increase grant revenues to meet the fundraising objectives of the Foundation.
Establishes and maintains relationships through ongoing engagement, cultivation and stewardship of potential and current foundation, corporate, and other donors via direct verbal and written communications; and represents AdventHealth in the non-profit community.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
BA or BS degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Finance, Healthcare or related field.
Five years’ experience and a proven track record in grant procurement.
PREFERRED :
Master’s degree and three years grant experience,
OR BA/BS degree and six years’ experience in grant writing, grants management, and fundraising for a non-profit
