The role you’ll contribute:

Assists surgeons by preparing operating rooms and appropriately arranging surgical equipment and supplies under the direct supervision of Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Registered Nurse (RN).

  • Under Direct Supervision of CST or RN -

  • Ensures operating room is sterile

  • Conducts field preparation and maintenance

  • Conducts instrument counts prior to surgical procedures

  • Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients

  • Provides patients with supportive care during pre-operative phases

  • Collects and labels specimens obtained during surgical procedures

  • Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instrument counts throughout procedures

  • Assists team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times in an efficient and organized manner

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • At Minimum, Intern will be in final semester of an Accredited Surgical Tech Program with pending graduation within 6 months.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) will be required within 6 months of successful completion of Accredited Surgical Technician Program. Failure to obtain certification will result in job change or termination of employment
