Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Maintains a working knowledge of all iConnect, both clinical and non-clinical components.

  • Monitor the training program and material for computer documentation and informatics systems to provide required components for the clinical staff as necessary.

  • Reviews and approves educational programs for clinical staff based upon identified needs and stated objectives as documented in needs assessments, committee reports and verbal and written requests.

  • Serves as resource person throughout the hospital for Electronic Health Record, PACS, CPOE and any other applications as appropriate to include new implementations.

  • Collaborates with other departments as necessary to meet clinical staff information needs, as evidenced by feedback from those involved, with less than three documented concerns per year.

  • Conducts inter-disciplinary meetings for all staff to promote understanding across departments of the Electronic Health Record.

  • Oversees the maintenance and updates for the Downtime, Training and Upgrade Manuals.

  • Performs regular chart audits to identify areas for improvement in the use of the Electronic Health Record.

  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the computer system, new forms and DTA changes in forms for clinician and clinical leadership, serving as resource for all departments that utilize the Electronic Health Record.

  • Collaborates with clinicians and clinical leadership to determine problems, information needs and assists in the development of processes, procedures and policies to facilitate problem solutions and improve the Electronic Health Record.

  • Maintains confidentiality of security codes and passwords 100% of the time.

  • Responds to clinicians' computer problems as soon as possible, taking appropriate measure to resolve the problem with no more than three documented concerns.

  • Works with the RCIM to assist in preparing conversion procedures and oversees the development of training materials and participates in the training of clinical staff.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of organization activities, applications, concepts and operation procedures channeling suggestions, criticism and questions to the Executive Staff.

  • Assists with Electronic Health Record downtime and recovery procedures as requested.

  • Serves as a resource on any team using the Electronic Health Record such as Policy, Procedure and Forms Committee etc.

  • Assists all hospital department leads with developing and following any change control CRs.

  • Monitors all HELP Desk tickets and works with the HELP Desk assignee and endusers for issue resolution.

  • Availability: Follows hospital policy regarding time and attendance. Occasional evening and/or weekend onsite support may be be required during system upgrades or activation of new applications. Evening and/or weekend remote telephone and/or computer support may be required to resolve level 1 and level 2 issues generated by the helpdesk.

  • Professional Appearance: Consistent with professional image and hospital dress code.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems is preferred, Clinical Degree or related field is required.

  • Equivalent experience may supplement degree requirement.

  • Must have more than four years of hospital experience

  • Organizational and time management skills required.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others.

  • Ability to use machines, tools, equipment and work aids as necessary to perform job duties.

  • Experience working effectively with clinical staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Job Summary

The Clinical Informatics Lead collaborates with the clinical education department, department educators, clinical analysts, IS, Physicians, Clinical Managers/Directors, Executive Team, Regional Clinical Informatics Manager (RCIM) and others with informational needs to plan and facilitate implementation and use of information systems by hospital staff (including Nurses, Unit Secretaries, Pharmacists and Ancillary Areas). This collaboration includes assessing, planning, developing, implementing, evaluating informational systems for use in enhancing documentation in the provision of patient care. The Clinical Informatics Lead is responsible to adhere to the AdventHealth Corporate Responsibility plan, policies, and procedures, the rules and regulations of all local, state and federal agencies, and the standards of all accrediting bodies.
