Work Hours/Shift:

Full-Time Evenings Shift

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Able to strip, wax, and buff floors.

  • Ensures a safe, clean and well-maintained facility on a daily basis. Schedules staff for daily assignments, classroom/ event set ups and projects as required by Florida Hospital departments.

  • Is responsible for the cleanliness of patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, offices and ancillary rooms. Performs floor care in assigned areas, i.e. dust mopping, damp mopping, scrubbing, striping and recoating, spray buffing and carpet shampooing.

  • Performs quality assurance checks in assigned locations. Observes staff for compliance with instructions and safety rules. Records from employee work sheets any problems found while cleaning and follows up with appropriate action. Makes daily contact with departments to assure that no problems are overlooked according to established procedures.

  • Administrative duties include but are not limited to: compiling data, scheduling, writing reports, corresponding via email, fax, radio or phone, providing input for employee evaluations and counselings and ordering supplies.

  • Adjusts personal schedule to meet department demands with very short notice or no notification. Performs duties as needed even when not directly assigned.

  • Must conduct staff in-services and staff meetings on a regular basis. Trains staff on technique and proper use of equipment to ensure staff competency in the cleaning of patient rooms, discharges, isolation, operating room between cases and operating room terminal cleaning.

  • Oversees the exchange of linen carts in a safe and timely manner. Ensures that linen carts are stocked in a time efficient manner and filled to par levels. Maintain proper linen inventory to meet the needs of the entire hospital and to maintain a good relationship with all department heads and service vendors.

  • Must have full knowledge of the entire department’s day to day operations and perform these duties as required. Participates in all emergency programs or situations as required, and performs all duties as requested.

  • Maintains age specific precautions. Cleaning carts will not be left unattended. Environmental service closets will remain locked at all times. Keep hallways and pathways clear of debris, cleaning equipment and tools.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • At least two years of previous Environmental Services experience and 1-year minimum of supervisory experience in Healthcare Facilities Services.

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

  • Must be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports and do basic arithmetic.

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, is responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital in all patient, public and ancillary areas and the distribution and delivery of clean linen. Includes any other areas as may be assigned in accordance with the mission, goals and policies of the Environmental Services Department.
