The role you’ll contribute:

Maintains hard surface floor and carpet (dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, resident rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as dining rooms. Monitors and trains others on various processes.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

· Ensures satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule

· May perform housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met

· Reports equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion

· May collect and dispose of trash (contaminated or non-contaminated) in an appropriate manner. May collect and stage soiled linen for pick up

· Demonstrates a complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Maintains an appropriate level of knowledge relating to matters of sanitation, use of disinfectants, and reports any hazardous situations and responds to any hazards and emergency situations. Also handles preparing safety data sheets (SDS)

· Must conduct staff in-services and training as related to the floor care staff. Trains floor maintenance staff on technique and proper use of equipment to ensure staff competency in the floor maintenance processes including but not limited to: refinishing of floors, carpet cleaning techniques, tile and grout cleaning

· Responsible for keeping equipment sanitized and clean

· Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

ü Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field

ü Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition

ü Able to communicate in English

ü Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School Grad or Equivalent and 1+ years of experience
