PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
· Evaluates patient’s response and intervene in a timely manner to ensure optimal patient outcome.
· Effectively performs a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to Treadmill testing, stress testing, 12-Lead EKG interpretation.
· Assess for appropriate diagnostic intervention.
· Implements patient plan of care and observes outcomes in accordance with nursing standards andphysician direction.
· Ensures safety of each patient in least restrictive manner.
· Serves as patient advocate. Anticipates needs of provider, staff patient and family.
· Effectively uses time, personnel, equipment and supplies to provide high quality, cost effective delivery of patient care.
· Demonstrates proficiency in monitoring patients undergoing cardiac testing and emergency intervention per ACLS/ACC guidelines when needed.
· Exhibit advanced clinical knowledge and skills in all aspects of patient care.
· Completes comprehensive age and gender appropriate initial assessment based on patient’s strengths, goal sand needs, acute and chronic health conditions, environment, and psychosocial determinants of health.
· Demonstrate a depth and breadth of knowledge, synthesis of data, increased complexity of skills, Interventions and role autonomy reflective of an advanced practice registered nurse education.
· Assumes responsibility and accountability for health promotion and/ or maintenance as well as the assessment, diagnosis and management of patient problems, which includes the use and prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
· Provide a scope of services across the health wellness-illness continuum, as defined by nationally recognized role and population-focused competencies as an advanced practice registered nurse.
· Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes in a timely manner to ensure optimal patient outcome.
· Assess patient’s ability to participate to the fullest extent by determining presence/ absence of barriers to active participation in the individualized care plan.
· Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
· Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions as an advanced practice registered nurse.
· Encourage patient engagement in the healthcare partnership through the use of motivational interviewing, evidence based self-management protocols, tools and teach-back methodology.
· Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs.
· Provide relationship-based care in which the nurse strives to understand what is most important to the individual and actively engage them in all aspects of care. This care will be delivered with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experience.
· Contributes to continuous process improvement by taking an active role in patient experience and satisfaction.
· Delegates to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and AdventHealth Physician Group policy.
· Effectively uses time, personnel, equipment and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
· Professional role model for all staff demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing process.
· Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
· Participates in the activities of an interdisciplinary care team that takes collective responsibility for proactively supporting.
· patient’s unity of body, mind and spirit as they relate to comprehensive patient care. The interdisciplinary team includes but is not limited to the primary care provider, specialists, third-party providers, patient, and nursing.
· Precepts and mentors’ new staff or advance practice nursing students as needed.
· Seeks out learning opportunities and continuing education to improve care.
· Seeks experiences that reflect current practice in order to maintain skills and competence in clinical practice or role performance.
· Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning.
· Evaluates one’s own integrity and nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations. Takes action to achieve goals identified during the evaluation process.
· Demonstrates a commitment to the organization through ongoing participation in clinic based meetings.
· Demonstrates a strong understanding of the value of measurement and the importance of continuous quality improvement data. Use quality measures to improve performance and accountability for patient outcomes, patient experiences and safe delivery of care.
· Participate in clinic-based Quality improvement, evidence-based practice and research activities.
· Use current healthcare research findings and other evidence to expand clinical knowledge, enhance role performance, and increase knowledge of professional issues.
· Adapts to rapidly changing technology as evidenced by competency in technology and equipment used in the patient care setting.
· Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
· Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in accurate, timely manner.
· Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
. Master’s Degree in Nursing as Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program. Must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing
· Associate degree in nursing (Graduate from an Accredited School Of Nursing)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
. 1 year of experience in a clinical or advance practice setting, preferred.
· Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
· 2 years cardiac NP and cardiac stress testing background preferred
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Registry. Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or subspecialty
· RN
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
· Basic Life Support (BSL-May be required depending on practice setting)
· ACLS (May be required depending on practice setting)
· RXN/RXN-P (Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan)

Establishes and maintains a history of regular attendance; makes appropriate use of PDO and observes department call-in procedures for absence; establishes and maintains punctual work habits. Exhibits timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.
Attends and participates in mandatory facility-wide and department training/meetings as required (including but not limited to: ALN, safety training, etc.). Is able to demonstrate and apply knowledge of fire, safety, security, and disaster procedure regulations as presented in orientation, outlined in the safety manual, and as pertains to each work area.
Required to respond to emergency situations (i.e. disasters, hurricanes, etc.) by reporting to department and staying until the crisis is over or your position is covered by incoming personnel. This is a mandatory requirement. Refusal to respond may result in termination.
