PRN, as needed
You Will Be Responsible For:
Is consistent in obtaining high quality images using medical imaging equipment to include, radiographic/fluoroscopic, portable, bone density, and surgical c-arm.
Transfers images to appropriate storage medium.
Learns physician preferences and routines and department positioning protocols.
Is able to gather all supplies and set up imaging room for each procedure that is performed in the medical imaging under their scope of practice.
Inspects and documents findings of protective wear according to policy.
Monitors radiation safety for staff, physicians, patients and any observers involved in procedures.
Participates in quality improvement efforts.
What You Will Need:
Associate's degree (A. A.) from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology, or an equivalent program of instruction in Radiologic Technology and preferably at least six months to one year related experience and/or training.
Must hold a current certificate in BLS from American Heart Association
Must hold a current license as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of Texas and be in good standing with the ARRT.
Under the direction of a radiologist, performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Will perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement to apply prescribed ionizing radiation. Will cross-train and or assist in other roles in the medical Imaging department as needed.
