The role you’ll contribute:

The EZ Script Program Technician performs a wide range of supportive duties to assist the pharmacy in preparing and dispensing medication so that patients receive consistent care. This position works directly with members and doctors’ offices to facilitate prescriptions being sent to the mail order pharmacy for processing. This role is required to understand all pharmacy processes relating to prescription order entry, claims adjudication, fulfillment and shipping prescriptions. In addition, this position will prepare prescription requests based on insurance claims information and member information.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Contacts physician’s office for any clarification, within registered pharmacy technician scope of practice guidelines, regarding missing prescription information and follows up with inquiring in a timely manner based on pharmacy processes, contacting the patient as necessary.

  • Thoroughly understands the prescription plan and communicates with members or physician’s offices any questions regarding prescriptions, prior authorization process or step therapies

  • Explains the EZ Script program in an easily understood manner based on member’s knowledge of prescription program to facilitate prescriptions being sent to the mail-order.

  • Answers transfer calls into the call center in a courteous and timely manner, contributing to reduced abandonment rate and overall patient satisfaction.

  • Verifies that all member and dependent information is updated and accurate including address, allergy information, phone number, and payment method.

  • Outbound outreach to patients via phone and/or email inquiring about recent prescriptions that may need to be filled at the mail-order.

  • Communicates any information relative to the prescription request within the profile notes to be viewed by Processing, QA, Pharmacist, Bookkeeping, Filling and Shipping staff.

  • Keeps record of daily EZ Script claims and ensures all necessary information is provided to pharmacists in order to complete the prescription transfer when necessary


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 1 year of retail or mail-order pharmacy setting.

  • A current Florida Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration, RPT. Must complete state required continuing education requirement for registration.
