Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Recommends processes, ensures all Shipping functions are completed and provides leadership pertaining to packing and shipping, ensuring performance meets customer and patient requirements.

  • Collaborate with facility Director(s) and Sr. Manager to achieve stated goals and accountabilities for shipping personnel daily and throughout the year.

  • Responsible for in depth understanding of pharmacy’s services; articulates to supporting staff to assure goals are met with increased safety and efficiency.

  • Lead staff to execute processes and procedures effectively, providing leadership and guidance on automation throughput to include packing medications and shipping, pharmacy processes and additional training as necessary.

  • Responsible for introductory and annual evaluations of all new hires/transfers into the shipping position promoting employee growth and development. Determine daily goals and specific duty assignments for shipping staff and monitor workflow duties for appropriate and timely follow through.

  • Coordinate shipping schedules, monitor pickup, delivery, or distribution of medication, products and materials.

  • Oversees and delegates warehouse and distribution activities to meet established operational standards, while promoting and evaluating the development of department employees.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Logistics or Business-related field required or to obtained within 2 years of taking position.

  • 5 years retail, specialty, central fill or mail-order pharmacy technician experience.

  • A current Florida Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration, RPT; must complete state required continuing education requirement for registration.

Job Summary:

The Shipping Manager is responsible for all activities regarding Rx Plus/Expedien Rx shipping staff and processes. This position coordinates the day to day activities related to restocking supplies, proper packing procedures, processing returns, and shipping medications in timely completion in accordance to the pharmacy’s stated goals. Manages vendor relationships ensuring compliance to contracts and facilitation of special deliveries to include all shipping vendors. The Shipping Manager hires, trains and manages members of the shipping staff and is required to understand all pharmacy processes excluding Pharmacist’s duties. This position resolves difficult issues regarding shipping manifest, patient prescription deliveries and other matters requiring sensitivity and speed.
