You Will Be Responsible For:
The paramedic is a professional who works under the direction of the Registered Nurse, within the scope of the paramedic practice, provides care to patients in the emergency department in accordance with hospital mission and patient care policies and procedures.
Communicates, collects, reports accurate patient care data to appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team.
Performs ongoing observations on patients under the direction of the RN
Collects data for the assessment of patient/family needs in relation to care, condition, and education
Documents in the electronic medical record the patient/family status and response to treatment
Anticipates patient care problems and informs the RN/physician.
Participates in the patient/family care, utilizing established techniques as part of the multidisciplinary team
Assists in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as directed by the RN.
Establishes priorities of patient care based on the needs of the patients.
Provides patient care as delegated by the RN.
Maintains accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Performs ordered 12 lead EKGs as directed by the RN.
Accurately and safely performs the insertion of a saline lock, long term IV, and urinary catherization,
Maintains aseptic technique, demonstrating knowledge of infection control practices.
Accurately sets up and assists with procedures under the direct supervision of the RN/physician.
What You Will Need:
Florida Paramedic license (Required)
Previous EMT/Paramedic experience (Preferred)
Previous 12 lead EKG experience (Preferred)
Previous venipuncture experience (Preferred)
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
BLS – (Required – condition of employment)
ACLS (Required – condition of employment)
Crisis Management (Required – within 90 days of employment)
