The role you’ll contribute:
The Respiratory Trainee is an entry level position. The trainee may be a senior level student or a graduate of a CoArc accredited Respiratory Program, but someone who has not completed the post-graduate national board examinations. The trainee will perform basic duties of a respiratory therapist and will be under close supervision by more experienced personnel in the department.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry and breath sounds.
Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy.
Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients.
Performs bedside spirometry tests to be used by physician in diagnosis of case.
Performs chest physiotherapy, bronchopulmonary drainage, and assists patient in performing breathing exercises.
