The role you’ll contribute:

As an integral member of a team, the Early Childhood Team Leader is responsible in assisting in the implementation of early childhood best practice standards through peer education and mentorship as defined by the Early learning Center’s management and Curriculum Specialist. Serves as a liaison between children, parents, teachers and the Early learning Center’s management.

· Provides peer education and in-service training.

· Serves as a mentor to new associates and staff.

· Knows the characteristics of the various age levels, recognizes children’s physical, mental, emotional and social needs.

· Attends all staff meetings.

· Observe classes are providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children and applying early childhood best practice standards.

· Models exemplary behavior in a manner which results in productive use of time and successful accomplishment of tasks.

· Meets in-service and continuing education requirements as per department policy by the last day of the licensing year.

· Maintains standards as outlined by Kansas Health Department licensing

· Maintains sanitary conditions in room with children while adhering to infection prevention policies.

· Maintains current knowledge of teaching methodology and trends in Early Childhood Education through continuing education, journals and professional association.

· Implements and advises others of early childhood standards.

· Assist in reviewing lesson plans and monthly goals to be in compliance with early learning standards.

· Develops and implements lesson plans and monthly goals to meet children’s developmental needs, accreditation criteria, and department philosophy. Plans are submitted on time.

· Demonstrates a willingness to learn, to excel, and to support the childcare center in its goal to provide quality and efficient childcare service to the employees of SMH.


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:


· Teachers must have a clear understanding of the curriculum standards for the age of the children in their classes

· Lesson planning

· Knowledge of computer skills

· Classroom management skills

· Communicates and problem-solves efficiently


· Assessment

· Creative Curriculum, Journey Through Early Music, Conscious Discipline, STEAM


· Bachelor’s Degree in an Early Childhood or related field

· 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience


· Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood

· 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience
