You Will Be Responsible For:
Implements Electrophysiology program processes and protocols to assure smooth operations and patient flow, inclusive of device clinics.
Facilitates development of the program and growth opportunities including, but not exclusive to development of AFIB clinic and collaboration with HF clinic.
Manage all incoming referrals to the Electrophysiology program/clinic including but not limited to:
Perform initial clinical evaluations on patients referred with rhythm abnormalities.
Orders, schedule, coordinate and interpret all appropriate diagnostic tests in collaboration with EP Team and physician.
Facilitates and Ensures all protocols are evidence based and staff are educated to such.
Is expert in electrophysiology and mentors other NPs, staff, etc. regarding care of the EP patient.
Review medications in accordance with guidelines developed with EP medical director and evidenced based guidelines.
Initiate consultations/referrals as determined by physician
Schedules EP procedures.
Ensure consistent and appropriate follow-up care in collaboration with referring and or primary care physicians.
Manage the full patient experience from referral to procedure.
What You Will Need:
Current Kansas Advance Practice Certification
Current Kansas nursing license
Minimum of 3 years RN/APRN experience in Cardiovascular Services.
Knowledge of adult leaning principles required
Demonstrated skill in the use of written and oral communication
Good computer skills
Provides overall coordination of Electrophysiology program for AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Provides care under the direction of the supervising Electrophysiologist, cardiologists, and CT surgeons. Leads management, education, and growth of the electrophysiology program in collaboration with the EP Medical Director and Executive Director of CV Services. Has expertise in the clinical management of the electrophysiology and cardiac Surgical/Procedural patient. The APRN has the responsibility for assessment and management of electrophysiology patients in the clinic, pre and post procedure, including diagnostic and therapeutic intervention, and day to day implementation and evaluation of the appropriate plan of care. The APRN works in collaboration with the medical, nursing and support services to provide patient and family focused care. The APRN leads active participation in PI & data collection and EP research. The APRN is also responsible to lead and facilitate staff development and continuing education in the subject of electrophysiology. The lead EP Coordinator prepares and facilitates case reviews.
