Located in Suburban Kansas City, AdventHealth is a three-hospital system searching for a highly skilled fellowship trained radiation oncologist to join our dedicated team of experts. Our candidate must be well-trained, completed a fellowship in Radiation Oncology with an emphasis on gynecologic brachytherapy, and able to work in a collaborative team environment.

The Cancer Center at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission opened in 2014 and is the only certified member of MD Anderson Cancer Network®, a program of MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Kansas City. Our Cancer Center quickly gained a reputation for exceptional care in the Kansas City Metro. As the next step in our mission to support the needs of our community, Advent Health has begun construction on a 71,000 sq ft, three story, state of the art Cancer Center that will triple the size of the current facility; and will include a state-of-the-art High Dose Radiation Suite.

Our multidisciplinary team works closely with dedicated surgeons, pathologists, pharmacists, psychologists, and social workers. This collaboration allows for following best practice and delivering quality care to our patients. There are weekly multidisciplinary tumor conferences and AH providers have direct access to MD Anderson providers for complex consultations and patients requesting 2 nd opinions.

Our Gynecologic Oncology Program is the market leader in Kansas City. Today, our team consists of Radiation Oncologists, Gynecologic-Oncology Surgeons, Dedicated Gynecologic Pathologists, and other specialists all working together to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient. The current Cancer program has on-site radiation therapy, including HDR, a 16-chair infusion center, PET/CT, and a full complement of support services.
