You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Demonstrate the ability to identify infectious disease processes

  • Survey and investigate epidemiologic events

  • Use evidence based practice and regulatory requirements to prevent and control the transmission of infectious agents

  • Maintain collaborative accountability for ensuring Employee Health and Safety is met

  • Utilize professional communication and management skills to develop policies, procedures and process improvement initiatives in compliance with the infection control plan

  • Lead and participate in education and research initiatives prevent the transmission and prevention of infectious processes

  • Comply with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Bedside clinical practice and/or infection control practitioner experience within the past 3 years

  • Kansas Registered Nurse License

  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association

Job Summary:

The Infection Control Nurse will demonstrate the ability to provide surveillance and intervention in the prevention and transmission of infectious diseases. Utilization of expertise in Infection Control principles, practice and process improvement are required. Integration of workflow utilizing the electronic health record, NHSN, state and national reporting processes, organizational goals and integration into the community health networks are mandatory. Communication skills within the multidisciplinary team are required to facilitate the role within both clinical practice, facility readiness for emergencies and construction.
