AdventHealth CFO Non-Acute Services - West Florida Division in Tampa, Florida

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of Non-Acute Services for our West Florida Division located in Tampa, Florida. Reporting to the Senior Executive Officer for Non-Acute Services, the CFO will serve as an active member of the senior leadership team. This executive provides financial input and data for the strategic policy making functions of the West Florida Division's Non-Acute business unit, as well as the operating and strategic decision-making activities of the SEO and senior management.

General Summary :

Under the direction of the Senior Executive Officer (SEO) of Non-Acute Services, the CFO of Non-Acute Services provides direction and leadership in reviewing the financial affairs for Non-Acute Services business unit and actively pursues identified strategies and opportunities for operational improvement across the West Florida Division. These businesses include the AdventHealth Medical Group Physician Enterprise, Post-Acute Network, Ambulatory Network (ASC, Centra Care, Occupational Medicine, Rehabilitation, Imaging, Retail Services, Home Health, Physical Therapy and Ancillary Services), Hospital Based Physician Services, Population Health, Physician Recruitment and practice/business acquisition along with Network Site Development.

Responsibilities include establishing an effective business leadership, strategy development, operating and capital budget development, monitoring and management within the Non-Acute Services business unit. Participates with other senior management to address, interpret, resolve and monitor a broad and diverse range of financial, operational and strategic issues. Functions as the business strategy partner for the SEO of the Non-Acute Business Unit and contributes to the overall management of the Non-Acute Services business unit by driving key strategies and financial performance as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Proactively works in a collaborative manner with other members of the Senior Leadership Team and with the West Florida Division Executive Office, Acute Care Services and Support Service business units to improve financial performance and attain strategic goals and objectives.

Job Duties :

  • Communicates financial information to the Non-Acute Business Unit management.

  • Works collaboratively with Non-Acute Business Unit’s Senior Leadership to monitor indicators of activity to support proactive management of operations and cost control

  • Proactively evaluates financial results by business unit benchmarking to identify opportunities and provide substantive advice relative to improving financial performance

  • Identifies, evaluates and makes recommendations on new business opportunities with a focus on growth

  • Serves as a change agent, utilizing change theory to plan for the implementation of organizational change

  • Provides leadership for strategic financial and capital decision making

  • Actively supports the West Florida Division Support Services as a Non-Acute Business Unit advocate and leader for operational integration (i.e., Finance, Clinical, People, Strategy, and Learning)

  • Plans and develops a complete succession plan for rollup up to and including own position

  • Provides financial explanation and education for Non-Acute Business Unit leadership, management and associates to strengthen financial business competency

  • Actively participates in West Florida Division system-wide initiatives providing leadership, support and engagement to ensure successful assessment and implementation.

  • Strategic vision and thinking. Ability to position the organization for the future, looking beyond the present situation to conceptualize key trends and identify changing market demands

  • Strong business acumen, intelligence, and capacity; able to think strategically and implement tactically

  • Advanced analytical, business management and cost control skills are necessary to direct management of financial resources, determine needs for capital equipment, personnel, expense and revenue budgets

  • Knowledge of the healthcare environment and key issues associated with hospitals, ambulatory care and physician alignment

  • Approaches his/her work as an interconnected system. Ability to understand major objectives and break them down into meaningful action steps

  • Strong organizational abilities and the flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the position

  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite

  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior

Education, Licensure and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Health Services Administration; Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum of 15 years’ functional experience in finance, accounting, and/or healthcare finance

  • Minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience in finance or healthcare finance

  • Previous experience as a CFO in an acute or ambulatory setting preferred

  • CPA preferred
