Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time / Day

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Works independently to receive, respond to, track and document inquiries and complaints from patients, employees, business associates, and others regarding AdventHealth’s compliance and privacy practices. Works with Regional Corporate Responsibility Officer to assess the viability and severity of complaints.

  • Works independently to intake, coordinate investigation, and manage FairWarning and Compliance 360 cases in accordance with established policy and procedure and assures that all investigations are seen through to completion including any necessary patient notifications

  • Under the direction of the RCRO or Assistant RCRO, assists in the timely completion of regulatory investigations related to Compliance or HIPAA Privacy/Security.

  • Assists the Corporate Responsibility Officer, legal counsel, Privacy Officer, Data Security Officer, Human Resources department, Risk Management department, and other appropriate persons and offices to implement corrective action to mitigate effects of inappropriate behavior and activities and documents such actions. Interact with employees through all levels of the organization to investigate the complaints.

  • Assists in developing and conducting educational programs on corporate responsibility and privacy as requested by RCRO. Conducts training functions for corporate responsibility and privacy to employees, volunteers, and other appropriate parties as assigned. Maintains tracking system and documentation to ensure required training occurs in a timely manner.

  • Facilitates and promotes activities to foster information deployment and corporate responsibility and privacy awareness within AdventHealth and its related entities including the development and implementation of a system-wide ongoing Corporate Responsibility Liaison program.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • High School Diploma; AND

  • Documented work experience in Healthcare or related field

  • Three to five years’ work experience with ethics and compliance concepts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field; AND

  • Greater than five years of experience in healthcare compliance, ethics, risk management, patient privacy, auditing, regulatory affairs, or a combination thereof.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED :

  • Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and/or

  • Certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional

Job Summary:

The Corporate Responsibility Specialist operates under the Direction of the Regional Corporate Responsibility Officer (RCRO) to assist in developing and maintaining processes to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance (e.g. Office of Inspector General, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Office of Civil Rights), as well as AdventHealth policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct. Responsibilities may focus on one or more elements of the Corporate Responsibility Program, including but not limited to, general compliance and HIPAA Privacy. Examples include actively conveying compliance and privacy communications, analyzing and responding to compliance and/or HIPAA related inquiries, and performing investigations of compliance and privacy complaints. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
