The role you’ll contribute:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations and Philanthropy Services, the Director of Donor Relations and Annual Giving is responsible for designing and implementing a creative, comprehensive donor relations program. This director is responsible for increasing annual giving revenue, broadening the base of support, and strengthening major gift pipelines.

The Director of Donor Relations and Annual Giving is joining the AdventHealth Foundation West Florida team during a great time of growth. The director will be tasked with increasing AdventHealth’s donor base and philanthropic revenue through annual giving tactics that include but are not limited to sustainer programs, giving societies, digital and direct mail appeals, and employee giving. The director will work collaboratively with the Foundation’s major gift officers to ensure that donor relationships are cultivated and strengthened, providing leadership and support when it comes to stewarding all levels of donors.

The Director of Donor Relations and Annual Giving should be an experienced donor relations professional with a history of building and successfully executing donor recognition and annual giving programs. She/he is a strategic thinker and self-starter who likes to take initiative but also excels as a team player and in collaborative settings. A positive attitude is a must! The ideal candidate for this role can thrive in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building a culture of philanthropy and serving the needs of AdventHealth patients and families.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a donor relations program that strategically targets all levels of giving and features a robust, donor-centric recognition system that provides engaging, meaningful and memorable moments for donors

  • Create and implement a division-wide annual giving strategy that results in a growing and sustained donor base

  • With a strategic approach, analyze growing donor base and work with major gift officers to strengthen major gifts pipeline

  • Manage and contribute to the growth and development of a division-wide employee giving program

  • Enthusiastic champion for major gift officers and other appropriate teams, providing donor-engagement direction and strategy for prospects and donors, ensuring they are properly cultivated, stewarded and retained

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Five years or more of experience in the areas of donor relations, stewardship and annual giving programs and tactics for nonprofit organizations (healthcare is preferred)

  • Minimum of three years management experience
