You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Strategically plans and oversees new ASC facilities, with the help of Non-Acute and Strategic Leadership, to expand the geographic footprint of the West FL Division.

  • Performs the day-to-day operations for each new under the direction of the Sr. Executive Officer, Non-Acute Services.

  • Ensures staff provides high quality, accessible, cost effective care, and patient focused services, which comply with local, state, and federal requirements.

  • Develops services that achieve a high level of customer satisfaction with emphasis on the highest standards of quality and innovation.

  • Develops and implements initiatives to drive incremental volume in services lines aligned with the strategic plan and in accordance with the mission and vision.

  • Utilizes research data to implement clinical changes and the delivery of patient care and member services.

  • Collaborates with other internal and external leaders in identifying and implementing innovative models and best practices, emphasizing service improvements and cost reduction.

  • Collaborates with physician team leader, department chief and executive team in developing the level of patient services and the day-to-day operations of the department.

  • Ensure staff provides the highest quality of care and are in compliance with regulating bodies to include the Nurse Practice Act, JCAHO, Radiological Health Branch, federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Manages the financial performance and identifies and implements strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care and services.

  • Develops and monitors budgets and resource allocations.

  • Monitors reimbursement and revenue cycle in areas of responsibility to ensure the optimum levels.

  • Responsible for expanding the services and service line to meet the needs of the Division.

  • Demonstrates ongoing professional growth and development of self and of the personnel in the department.

  • Plans and monitors staffing activities and effectively communicates departmental, organization and industry information to staff.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Problem solving skills, HR skills/management in behavior and motivation.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to communicate with all ages, socioeconomic and educational levels.

  • Must possess ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary healthcare providers, leadership ability, diplomacy, process improvement knowledge, effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Financial understanding of expense and revenue budgets and ability to read financial reports and facilitate cost-management process.

  • Ability and willingness to work independently and make frequent decisions and judgements in clinical areas, as well as the ability to work as a part of a team.

  • Broad use of Excel, Word, Visio, and other IT programs for financial management.

  • Work requires a high degree of analytical ability to analyze data, determine planning, feasibility and market strategies.

  • Must be able to think clearly and quickly in high pressure/high volume environment.

  • Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situations.

  • Must be able to work as a team member with peers, staff, patients, physicians, managers and administration.

  • Knowledge of ACHA, OSHA, Nuclear regulatory Commission standards

  • Bachelor of Science Health Care, Business, Finance, or related field.

  • Requires broad and intensive knowledge of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

  • Minimum of 3 years in the management arena of ASC’s.

  • Expertise in business planning, financial management of resources and specific clinical knowledge required.

  • Minimum of 5 years professional work experience-broad based knowledge of ASC’s or similar healthcare service.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • Master’s Degree

  • Progressive management experience

  • Previous experience as a director of ASC with high degree of complexity.

  • LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

  • Relevant Certifications (FACHE, LQMS, etc...)

Job Summary:

The Director of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) is responsible for the strategic and operational development of outpatient surgery facilities throughout the West Florida Division (WFD) of AdventHealth. As the Director of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, you will be responsible for overall leadership, development of new centers, managing joint venture relationships, operations, strategic planning, compliance, quality assurance, safety and budgets for multiple location modalities throughout the WFD.

The Director of Ambulatory Surgery Centers is directly responsible for the development and coordination of services for the ASC network within the WFD. Responsibilities include: identifying, initiating and facilitating coordinative efforts with physician partners for ASC’s into the future; planning, organizing, directing, evaluating and coordinating technical, professional and nursing personnel in the care delivery of outpatient clinical services across the division; ensuring quality, volume and access of all modalities at all outpatient ASC locations. In charge of developing and overseeing the care and coordination provided by the various modalities within the ASC centers, and acts as the leader and liaison between the JV partners, physicians, patients, staff, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals. Works with the Medical staff and other Directors and Administration, developing strategic plans for providing quality care and cost-effective services which are aligned with federal, state, and local regulations. Reports data utilization and implements quality improvement initiatives.
